- UcPure Quad by Ian Canada
1. Two 3000F ultracapacitor groups in parallel, reducing the output ESR to the next lower level which has never been reached before. Noise was also reduced by 1/sqrt(2) in principle.
2. New dual PCB architecture to completely eliminate the wires between UcPure and ultracapacitors, thus significantly improving the performance. Because the resistance of the wires can be even higher than the ultracapacitor ESR itself.
3. The pure time is double, the dynamic current is also double.
4. Balancing functions are integrated on PCB, so no longer need external balancer/protection boards.
5. Both horizontal and vertical mount brackets.
6. 5V or 3.3V, jumper configurable.
7. 5.3A or 8.1A fast charging current, jumper configurable
8. Optimized to 12V AC input
9. Double copper thickness, four layers PCB design to ensure the lowest ESR performance
10. Two groups of switched and continuous output to make it easier to share this great power supply with different circuits of the system
11. So far the best power supply for clocks and DACs to improve the sound quality.
11. Very easy to assemble, just screw and play.
12. Come with all accessories.
13. Many other improvements

Thank you for all your Videos covering all types of Uc sizes specially the 15v mini that for me really solved having to purchase and store 12 Uc's at 1500$ not to mention storing them, this would be a great Clock Uc power for those that want more then 1 pair. Appreciate all the work you do for us.
Ian Canada is a Super Capacitor evangelist.
I run Ultra-low noise power supplies all with some very simple modifications to drop ripple down to pico amps.
It still looks like a lot of work in comparison. When it comes out for production I will try it and see of its has low noise under multiple loads.
I like how this one is all in one unit no wiring no soldering but boy that is a lot of amps in those things.
Thank you Gabster, I really like your technical teaching of Ian Canada, and I would like to make a teaching request. How to correctly discharge a used supercapacitor.thx~
Thanks for another great video. Only wish you would have completed with the power in and out. I am green when it comes to this, but learn a lot from you! ❤
Hi Ron it is very similar to this Video you will find it helpful to answer your question :)

@@Gabster1Thanks! Will watch right now! ❤
Hi Gabie, yip I can confirm Ian is like blood from a stone. Hahahha. I only asked him 2 weeks ago for a chance to play with the quad... I got no response 😂. Anyway another great post and 8amp charge speed wow..... Significant supply required now. I have just installed 4 mk111a units and they have some great new little tweaks. Good job Ian and another fantastic review Gabie. Keep up the good work. TK
Thanks Toby :) don't feel bad I think he only has a couple prototypes as mine has some taped + - markings. I doubt will go for 8 amps that would be too big of a trafo enjoy the mk3 I thing they are great.
Ordered, received, waiting on capacitors. 😎👍
Update: Received, assembled, brilliant design! 🙏
Play safe 🙃
@@Gabster1 yes Sir! 🫡
I understand the boom factor very well.
Capacitors arrived today.
I will not continue until I am less tired from work. 😎👍
Do you have the link to the correct ultracaps to order? Thanks
@@JRadian it is in the description towards the bottom Eaton or Tecate
Does this power supply output stable voltage or does it need a regulator after it? Clocks probably need very stable voltage. You videos on Ian Canada products have been really helpful.
awsome stuff, thank you
Great video! Can you get other voltages for these? Thanks!
These caps are rated for 3 v max but you can use them in series with balancers to create higher voltages like 5v 12v and 15v
They are not geared for power hungry use
See Ian’s manual about the UcPure system
If you want to get extremely low ESR. In fact, you can buy the cheaper version of Ian's and then using multiple supercapacitors in parallel can significantly reduce the overall ESR. For example, if each 3000F supercapacitor has an ESR of 1mOhm, then four capacitors in parallel would result in a total ESR of 1mOhm / 4 = 0.25mOhm, which is close to the 0.23 mOhm value.
Is it possible to output 3.3v and 5v power at the same time?Thank you
No you need 2 separate ones but You can use the 2 Regular UCpure MKIII ten you only use 2UCs each
@@Gabster1 thank you Gabster🙏🙏
Nice Review ;) Ian also sends me a pre-release version for testing etc :)
Unless your clock is of exceptional quality, surpassing that of Ian’s SC-Pure, you won’t experience a significant enhancement in sound quality by using the UcPure Quad. Instead of investing a substantial amount of money on the UcPure Quad, consider enriching your collection with additional audio CDs. This approach not only diversifies your musical experience but also makes effective use of your existing equipment.
Could we power a SET with these?
Not sure what you mean by set
But there is a 15v version with 6 UCs
How do you power a sc-pure clock with this?
It works the same as a regular UcPure
same as UcPure Mk1,2,3 just connect it to the Fifo3.3v
do not use and expensive, inefficient linear 12v power supply for this. It is a waste of money. The power coming out does not care about the quality of the power going in.
also for DC, yes, solid wire is technically better, for those trying to eek out every .01%
Another thing i dont think you said, anytime you are handling these ultra caps, make damn sure they are discharged first. otherwise death can occur,
Hello, omg to all the poor people who just bought the ucpure mk3 you bought it to quickly. Ian did not visit that American diy site for five weeks and the first post after his return is about this new product. Greetings,Eddy
I think there is sill a big a place for the UcPure Mark3 you do not always need that many Uc's Not everyone wants 20 Uc's to build a System
The UcPure Mark3 can do 15v and is also ideal for adapting other smaller UC's like Gabster did with his mini 15v in a video from a couple weeks ago video .
Sure, if you read about using aftermarket linear power supplies on serious audiophile diy sites it appears to be crucial to kind of integrate supplies into the circuit being fed. Ucpure having the most impressive specs it will be weird to use the wrong methods to get things connected. Just a few days ago i received a Furutech connector. In the technical paper it is clearly mentioned only stranded wire can be used. We have seen people using thick solid core wire in a tiny screw terminal ( compared to the one inside the Furutech) . If the tiny amount of information on the Furutech already mentions the stranded wire and the maximum momentum for tightening the screws i guess it will be crucial or not? Greetings,Eddy
Eddy, why are all of your posts regarding Ian Canada negative? His stuff is seriously high quality.
He doesn’t appear to be away. He is answering inquiries on his web site.
