It was fun revisiting this episode through your review. You chose some great video clips to include. Hastings and Miss Lemon add so much to any episode. I always miss them when they're not part of the cast. My favorite line from End House is one of Christie's from the novel: Poirot saying, "I am the dog who stays on the scent, Commander, and does not leave it."
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! And I agree, this quartet of characters was the perfect group. There's always a little something missing when they don't make appearances. That is an excellent line, by the way. Thanks for your comment!
For me, reading this novel many years ago, there was a MAJOR spoiler in the way the chapter titles were presented in the contents page. The title of Chapter 21 totally gives away the identity of the murderer. But a great review from you, Sir. In my mind this was one of the best of the novel adaptations despite that it was so early in the run.
Great review, as always. Poirot was not making a face because of the flavor of the ice cream. He was trying to eat said ice cream without it getting into his mustache!
Excellent---- deja vu can be rejuvenating when I meet Hercule Poirot , his friend Hastings and the Police Inspector Japp untying the plot eruditely knit by Dame Agatha Christie.
Thanks for your interesting and entertaining review. You encouraged me to watch this episode, which I had not seen before. It is available on TH-cam. I enjoyed it a lot. 👍
I enjoyed your review very much, just like other ones considering movie productions based on Agatha Christie's detective stories. As for this one, I am strongly on favour of its movie version, rather than the novel, which I found somewhat dull and longish. Therefore, while watching the movie I was pretty much surprised they managed to make such na entertainig film version. As for my favourite scene, that is one when Miss Lemon and Captain Hastings arę playing with various versions of the names, like Maggie or Elizabeth, which makes Poirot, come with the solution of the case. A flash of his genious triggered by seemingly banal remarks. Thanks again for your work🎉a

It says that in the novels too when he eats he tries to avoid getting food in his moustache 😁
A truly excellent and flawlessly produced critique by someone who could have played an extra in the episode.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Love ❤ your Poirot coverage!!!
Thank you!
When you say you completely identify with Hastings, I take it to mean you're also friends with an eccentric genius.
But of course, mon ami...

Thank you, I'm very glad you enjoyed it! That is a wonderful scene, and another example of the comedy these characters could produce together.
You always look good in a suite and tie 🤵🏼♂️
❤
About to watch both episodes today. Wanted to know if worth the watch.
All Poirot episodes with David Suchet as Poirot are worth the watch 😁
