    I had a -98 750 for a few years. Classic red/gold coloring. I loved it so much even if I couldn't ride as much I wanted due health reasons. I replaced sprockets, if I remember right I went -1 at front and +2 rear. Top speed after that was probably 90 mph but it was plenty enough for winding back roads.
    An air cooled 2v Ducati makes a distinctive sound when running. There is no other like it. Accelerating, then engine braking, accelerating again. Most of my routes included that one tunnel in the city :D

      Glad it was helpful man! its a great bike. i ride a ducati 696 now and i still like this bike more. seat is more suited for me and the power was better. 696 looks better but its not like this bike is ugly or anything.

    Dude, sick bike! This is my first bike and I'm just over a year in, not one moment of regret! Mine is 2006 and I've put 6,000 miles on it in just a year, it still only has 12,000! I'm changing the belts, chain, sprockets, spark plugs, checking valves, and new tires all next week! So stoked!

    For the vibration thru the grips, get some weighted bar ends. But before installing them, take a tube of clear silicone sealant and absolutely fill the inside of the handlebar with it. It removes nearly all vibration.

    Nice video, I have the black and silver version as stock/no mods. I love it, the turning circle/handlebar is very narrow so a three point turn is more like a 30 point turn :) but it actually improves the handling when cornering. I had a Cagiva Xtra Raptor 1000 previously and although that was my dream bike, this actually handles much better. Great bike! Peace.

    I've got a neighbor who's selling his for like $3,500 it's an 08. The thing is in perfect condition (he's an older guy). I was looking at buying a motorcycle and I'm a big can of buying used vs. new. As a bigger dude (6'3 @ 275lbs) I was looking at larger bikes. My original go to was going to be something like a Kawasaki 650 (Either the Ninja or Z model). Would this be too much for a first bike?

    Your reviews have been so helpful! Looking to purchase my first Monster. Lots of M696s around but really prefer the classic looks of the older ones. I really want the S2R 800. Thoughts?

    • @emirbenaissa3441
      @emirbenaissa3441 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. I think the s2r is a good classic, i tested an 800 ie the other day and it amazed me how torquey it was despite 95k km on the clock. I prefer the double sided exhausts on the ,800ie to the single arm single side s2r despite making a bit more power and torque, but the engine is essentially the same.
      I tested the 696 too and it felt like a master piece. Still thinking what i should get.

    • @petrolpancakes2946
      @petrolpancakes2946 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@emirbenaissa3441 S2R and newer models have the lighter APTC slipper clutch. How does the clutch compare on the 800? I prefer the looks of the double sided exhausts, too.

    • @emirbenaissa3441
      @emirbenaissa3441 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petrolpancakes2946 tbh i remember the clutch on an old M600 was really not that smooth, but the 800 i tested was infact smooth , I'd say nearly as smooth as 696. Thought i think i might lean to a broken 800 i found who s been sleeping for a year and does t start anymore. I might cut a good deal, fix the thing and sell it for a bit of profit. Last time i missed 3 696 for incredibly below market average prices... I'll be keeping an eye for the time being as the bikes near big cities tend to sell for a higher average price. I really am torn between the classic monster and the 696.
