@@1234fazermann lmao no its the same even for ramen. ramen is basically just fried chukamen noodles. chukamen is CHINESE not japanese like most ppl think. the only reason why ppl associate ramen with japanese culture is bc a japanese man discovered that frying chukamen in some oil (forgot which) made it good for preserving in a food famine they were experiencing. that method is japanese but the dish they use the preservation method on is not.
btw im chinese, not some random yt dude talking shit out of his ass. if ur going to be all hissy abt me clarifying the origins of ramen then ur just another person whod rather credit a country who u fetishize n romanticize bc ur sinophobic. ppl like to diss on china bc of the government without realizing that the very luxuries they gladly enjoy is only possible bc of us. if this doesnt apply to u then its not abt u 💀🫶

The Dahi balla is water squeezed fried balls. It's a little hard to get used to the taste if you haven't had it before but that's how it's supposed to taste.
Also- Generally anything that you buy from Haldiram is going to be good. It's one of the most prominent snack brands in India. Bikano and Charlie are the second best

A lot of frozen dinners or snacks have that taste where you can tell it has been sitting there, but the spices and seasons just hit right and so hard that you can barely even notice it was even frozen in the first place.

Pav bhaji is actually the easiest Indian dish u can make. U can get readymade pavbhaji masala from an indian store.
Saute onions and tomato puree together (as per ur taste). Add mashed potatoes (along with any other boiled and mashed vegetables u think go along with mashed potatoes... like carrots, pumpkin, peas, caultiflower etc sky's the limit). Add water and pav bhaji masala and salt. Bring to boil. Add a fuckload of butter before serving. Serve with bread/bun/pav sauted in more butter. Enjoy.
P.S. there is no measurements for anything because literally everything is adjusted to ur taste.

It must have tasted like a whole lot better if you have cut that pav peice into eight equal parts and then cooked it. The bhaji must have tasted good but if you had used a pan to spread it and cook it to hard hott, then I am sure you would be in love with that dish.😋

If you'd like to cook Indian food, I recommend starting with these basics that are a staple in every Indian household. All these ingredient names are in Hindi and Indian store owners in Canada will definitely understand them. These ingredients are also 100% vegetarian: atta (wholewheat flour), dal (any kind of pulse), chhole (chickpeas), rajma (kidney beans), besan (gram flour), masala (all spices are called masala and the store will ask u what kind u need), haldi (turmeric), ghee (clarified butter), rava/suji (semolina), poha (flattened rice), papad (savoury crunchy crackers that should he roasted or fried before eating), chawal (rice - Basmati is one type), paneer (cottage cheese), hing (asafoetida), jeera (cumin seeds), namak (salt), sendha namak (black salt), achar (pickles - there are dozens of types, ask the store for help), dahi (plain unsalted/unsweetened yoghurt). At the green grocer's, ask for hari mirchi (green chillies), lehsun (garlic), adrak (ginger), Indian sabzi (vegetables - again, specify the type u need), dhania (coriander leaves), nariyal (coconut)
U will likely use some combination of these ingredients while cooking, regardless of cuisine. That said, India is very, very diverse, so the food can vary by state/region/religion/community, etc. Even something as simple as kadhi or khichdi will taste different - but still awesome - in different places. Do try your hand at cooking Indian food. It is flavourful and if done right (google "sattvik food" and "ayurveda"), can be very nutritious too. Enjoy
