How was their isolation? I've seen these marketed towards musicians, but am having difficulty finding anything specifically addressing the isolation from outside noises.
It depends on what tips you use. I am a long time user of Etymotic ER series and Shure deep insert IEMs, if isolation is critical to you then many big bore (above 2.5mm nozzles) now does not isolate as well as those Etys or Shure. Etymotic ER series with triple flange or slow rebound foam tips capable of over 25 dB of noise isolation, even more once you find the right tips. For this BASN, it isolates well enough once I pair it with snug fit slow rebound foam tips, either from Dekoni or KZ foamies, but will never be as good as the Etys or Shure
I WANT ambient noise in my in ears. I cannot stand the separation from the audience from my ears. Westone makes a AM Pro X30 which allows musicians to also hear the audience. However, I'm not sure as a bass player, they'll have enough low end for me. Still researching.
Andy, have you heard the Kiwi Ears Melody (Planar Iem)? Heard good things about it. If you get to hear, a comparison please. I don't have a planar IEM; was leaning towards Melody (90usd), yet to be launched where I live. Some good new iems hitting the market now: Melody, this, Simgot EA1000, Aful MagicOne (1 BA, saw on their Aful Audio site).
There's so many IEMs now, faster than anyone can count haha. So no promise I would be able to cover even 1/3 of them. If I can get one to try yes, but like I said, no promise
Hi Andy ! Nice review 👌 Just a doubt , would the reverb be dampened in memory foam tips in general for all cases and better produced from a conical silicon tip ?
Thanks. Yes, foam tips normally dampen bass reverb and resonance, which in return you get faster transient response and tighter bass. Silicon tips, to me do the opposite
@@donglemadness thanks for that fast reply This makes a lot of sense , had bought an expensive pair of foam tips as i was suggested that foam tips improve the bass tightness and punch , but now when i use them i realise they just make those tingly rumble and reverbs dissappear and silicon tips sound much better ! Can you recommend me your favourite pair of silicon tips for this sound reproduction , i currently use an EQd 7HzDioko just for reference!
@@donglemadness Also i was looking into these BASN metalens , for a more of a balanced tuning and more emphasis on sound staging and depth and Detail retrievel , would you suggest these or the Kiwiear Quartet ?
Hi Andy Frank Miller here from UK you did a iem mod for me. How good is the Sony PCM D100 as a music dap I like using 4.4 or 2.5 balanced iems? Regards Frank
Good to hear from you Frank. PCM D100 is a legacy recorder/player that only has 3.5mm SE, yet it doesn't stop it from being utterly mind blowing with classic Sony sound which is rich yet neutral, exceedingly resolving yet organic smooth. I am addicted to it really and finding myself using the D100 on daily basis, practically ignoring the army of dongles I have at my disposal. About the only thing that I use more would be the Burson Audio Playmate 2 when sitting at my PC, lol

My pleasure
Curious on the difference between this and the pro version.
That would be an interesting question to me too, what will be the change on the Pro yes?
@@donglemadness from what I can see is that it is a cable upgrade only
Hi, will you make a review on the space travel? How would you compare it to the lower priced dc03 pro?
If I can get hold of one yes I will review it
@@donglemadness I mis typed, I meant the space travel and their new dac, compared to dc03. Will you be reviewing the dawn pro too?
@@Fish-fu7ge DAWN Pro yes, Space Travel not sure
i challenge everyone to take a tequila shot everytime he says "in fact"😂

@@frankmiller8393 Yes, that's the one
Cheers Andy.
Hi Andy, from where do you download hi-res music ?
All of my FLAC files are either ripped from my CD collections or now I prefer to buy them directly from Bandcamp
thank you Andy my wallet just melted jajaja
🤣
