I love this song because Dolores power is super hearing and in this song it simulates Dolores hearing everyone’s conversations in a mile radius and her not wanting her power that’s why the song is bumped up and hearing so much in the song, also they got the real voice actor for Dolores to sing in this song.
Everyone’s vocals are just amazing and to get one of the voice actors in the song is crazy.
Btw adaasa is actually the voice actor of dolores(the girl with super hearing) AND YES SHE IS IN THE ACTUALLY MOVIE ENCANTO!!!

Actually it's because she is overwhelmed with all the noise because she is forced to hear things that she doesn't want to hear such as love plans and she doesn't like it and so she is telling everyone to stop talking. And how "there's no secret I will tell, not unless they break the spell."
Actually, he’s right. If you REALLY pay attention to the movie, everything in the movie is a metaphor to reality, so while in the movie it’s physical, the metaphor that Nate found still stands.
I love how you describes the meaning of the song based on what you thought without seeing the movie. It might not be entirely true but a reasonable and possible explanation based ln what you know.
Little fun fact Adessa the person who sings the main character (which is dolores) is the same person who sings dolores in the actual movie ^-^
No it's bc she has super hearing and imagine how much you would hear with super hearing that's Mainly what its about is her power and how much she hears and knows and how much she needs to keep secrets to keep things running
I feel like that’s the surface level interpretation that I missed because I didn’t watch the movie. I think both perspectives actually work with each other here. She can hear everything which leads her to being overwhelmed by everyone’s opinions.

I don't care if they live in the 50's or something I know they still have materials they can use like get some fabric or leather to make it. She's obviously suffering and what makes it even more sad is that she doesn't tell or complain to anyone about it she even continues to tell herself she's fine, someone really needs to help her out and this is why I wish was in movies and shows.

Reason why it’s called Turn It Down: Dolores has the gift of hearing. To her, everything is way to loud. If u didn’t see at Tonito’s ceremony, she covered her ears cause of the fireworks and noise. She also was sad to her that Mariano wanted to have 5 babies with Isabela because Dolores likes him.

"I'm feeling this theme" he says while misinterpreting the theme. It's not so much about pressure to be the responsible one (that's Luisa's theme), it's literally just Dolores hating how loud everything is because her power is super hearing.
My favorite aspect about the song is the fact that they added an insane amount of background noise that technically didn't need to be there to simulate the perpetual cacophony that Dolores would experience with her gift and emphasize the message of the song. The song starts out with those super loud trumpets that honestly startled me the first time I heard the song (perhaps a parallel to how Dolores would have felt when she first got her gift; relative quiet, and then suddenly, LOUD), and it only gets more and more sounds added from there with the people singing/talking in the background over Dolores's chorus, and you don't quite realize just how loud everything is/has gotten until it goes to Bruno's part and all the extra stuff get's cut out (for as awful as loosing the miracle was for the rest of the family, imagine the overwhelming relief Dolores would have felt when she could finally experience quiet again). I think the line "the roar of whispers in every crowd" is my favorite line of the song because that's basically Dolores's life. She's perpetually experiencing the kind of sensory overload you'd get by being surrounded by a crowd of people all talking at once, to say nothing of how horrible things must be for her when she's *actually* in a crowd. This song is a grade A example of music serving story.
You should watch Or3o’s clover series, there’s a single video with all the songs and it’s all such a bop.

I think a lot of people missed the symbolism and metaphors in the movie. While the movie has physical aspects that you missed here and commenters noted, they’re wrong about it all being literal. Nate, you were right in your interpretation. If you watch the movie with am analyzing mine, understanding the metaphors, it’s actually a very realistic, yet depressing movie. Although I find it therapeutic.
