Those black domes are actually black Fresnel lenses for PIR sensors like you get on burglar alarms, pretty cool idea using them though! Crazy design I love it.
Kudos to Elta to sending this in!! Looks really neat. Pleased to see it's in a metal housing as well; that doesn't happen much these days with electronic instruments. Never underestimate the value of synth pads... sequence them for easy background music!
All churches need: Symphonic organ (with different sounding stops: trompette, clarinette, reed etc.), Hammond Organ, Minimoog and the 1k VCO drone machine. Then I'd be going there regularly!
This thing is perfect for ambient electronic music. It can conjure some pretty amazing soundscapes, it just takes a fair deal of patience to use. Anyone who's gotten a new piece of gear should be used to that routine anyway. Definitely checking out those samples, I loved the sounds you were able to get out of the Solar 50.
Lovely) right now I’m sitting at my solar 50 and now I have some ideas, thanks. Actually u tune it constantly, but it’s very musical. Its amazing drone, but when u made sequence with beats it’s just incredible!
Fantastic video demo, again! I like my Elta Music PLL-4046, analog harmonic synthesizer. that turns your input signal into a square wave, and then multiplies or divides the frequency of that square wave, providing overtones and undertones from the original pitch, with extreme timbral intensity.
Yeah, me too. Also, does the Solar 50 have a computer or microcontroller inside. Oh I see he is taking it apart now. Maybe we will find out. Wow it doesn’t look like the main synth has a controller at all.
Boom thats proper off the chain . So so awesome . Just when you think you have seen it all, damn its so good I must swear !!!. It just sounds so huge , like a cathedral organ .
hahaha well obviously i do tick most of the boxes! but the box that says "must not have a 1000 oscillator megadrone" i just cant tick that box honestly :(

Hello! My husband introduced me to your channel and I also saw you play some music I don't know with whom, but it was amazing. I love what you do and would love to know, other than what you add to your TH-cam channel, if you play in a band? I've made some wonderful discoveries lately and I wouldn't be surprised to like your compositions or your accompaniments. If not, would you have any artists to suggest to me and please, nothing from the USA. I've been a Depeche Mode fan for 30 years now, I discovered Royskopp and others whose name escapes me, but I prefer the British side of the music ... I am from Quebec and in the times we all live right now, music is more than therapy for me. Thank you for following my request and continue, you are talented and mysterious at the same time. A perfect combination. Thanks again.
I built my first synthesizer in 1980 from a circuit in Popular Electronics. It was also my first printed circuit board. (When Radio Shack was the corner electronics store.) The synth was based on an LM324 Quad Op-Amp. I learned a lot as a sixteen year old in those days.
I have both. And it’s strange pair. They looking similar for the first time but they are very different in their philosophy. Solar 50 is a space and Lyra is evil. Like my first marriage.) I still have no idea how to make them work together in any interesting way.
Before I watch this video (a treat for a Sunday evening), since I live at Folkestone, Kent I think I'm going to have to include visiting the Museum of Everything on my wish list. Now to watch this video. :-D
Got mine 3 weeks ago. I was lucky to be in first batch of preorders. SOLAR 50 is much fun synth but lacks midi and I have no equipment to pass 10V CV into it (my half-modular synth with sequencer and MIDI outputs only 5V).
Given how complex the 1K osc synth is, could it be used to do specific stuff like imitating traditional instruments or making huge stereo pads ? That would be rad.
Sounds great, looks great. The lack of midi hurts, but not as much as the website for this thing. I have seen Silk Road knock offs that seemed more legit. The website to order these pretty much looks like "please send bank transfer to Russia and then we'll send you an invoice." The poor quality of the site makes it seem like an invoice might be all you end up getting for $1,000+ I'm sure the makers are lovely people. The thing looks and sounds awesome, but they have to find a better way to present how they are selling the thing because it just reeks of sketchiness and big scam vibes. I mean this in the best of ways because I don't want to see a good bit of kit suffer from an easy to fix issue like a website turning away potential buyers out if fear it's not on the up and up.
yeah the website is pretty trashy. I like you how get directly redirected to paypal to transfer 1200€+ to their account lol. no basket, no details, customer account shipping adresse etc whatsoever. just transfer the money thx 😂
I know basically nothing about synths, nothing but what I've seen binging some of these LMNC videos but I'll be damned if this isn't one of the coolest machines I've ever seen. Would love to be able to play with it!
Uses of this: Run raw oscillator output(s) through another polyphonic synth where you add the color? Run raw oscillator output into various inputs of Eurorack modules?
Oh, I am slain! I would like this in software, maybe Reaktor or something, with each 5 or 10 voice part tunable with various preset spreads in pitch to make certain chords, detuned unison voices, or dissonant tone clusters.
Regarding tuning, it's hard to tell on the tiny knobs, but are there pips or arrows or something? And if so is the tuning too fine to use some sort of template to help with gross tuning? Like a chord should have the five oscillators pointed in this general direction.
I an analog guy so Daw or Snths with all their hundreds of knobs and potis are totally overwhelming for me as they are facinating. As I play didgeridoo jewharp and do overtone singing I like ambient atmospheric drone style music. So this ambient machine looks in this video as it would be quite easy to make some wonderful ambient sounds without having big skills from the start. Although the guy in the vid says it is not easy from the start. What's your opinion or expirience.

You literally never sleep, do you? This is amazing! 🔥😍 On the megadrone, for tuning, would it be possible to just drive each oscillator using servos, have addressable servos turn the knobs which could be controlled remotely with software for quicker config? I like the idea of an automated, but still analog synth.

Words fail me, amazed once again by your wizardry
Are there synthesizers for people getting into synths? Like legit hardware synths?
Just make sure everything is pinned down!!
They need to send one to Hainbach!
I think this is the most commercial video I've seen you make, but I like it. The harmonic drone of oscillators in polyphony is just pure eargasm.
Next a wall of 100 Solar 50s synced together for 5000 oscillators
🤟

LMNC: It takes an hour to tune.
Church Organ Technician: That quick?
Ha! As someone who regularly tunes a harpsichord, I chuckled when he said this.
My takeaway from this is that churches need to install megadrones instead of organs.
@@Benzene265 Why not both? ;)
All churches need: Symphonic organ (with different sounding stops: trompette, clarinette, reed etc.), Hammond Organ, Minimoog and the 1k VCO drone machine. Then I'd be going there regularly!
How about we just jettison the church part and make big halls with organs, mega drones, and comfy seats (not pews) instead?
This thing is magical in every sense of the word.
Never thought I’d fall as hard for a synth as I do for a nice bass but I love it, definitely gonna be my Christmas present to myself this year.
