This was my first ever play, and when I tell you I BAWLED my eyes out once it was over because I loved it so much, I’m telling the truth. I saw this production of Guys and Dolls and so IMPRESSED!!! It was done so well. I am assuming it is a high school production but you can't tell that from the performance! Excellent show. Done so very well.
My uncle is Herschel Sparber, Big Jule in the 1992 revival broadway production. I can honestly say this is one of the best productions off-broadway that I've seen. You channeled the 1992 cast in excellent form, particularly Nathan Lane, Faith Prince and Walter Bobby. You kids are mad talented! Hats off to those who play Nathan, Adelaide, Sky and Harry the Horse in particular! And Nicely? You are a born star. Broadway is calling, sir! You guys should all be proud! I'm gonna nudge Herschel to watch this!
Logan Sharpe, Nick Casey, Katherine White and Annika Helgeson, You guys did it again! This was beautiful performance! The Ridge Drama Club, your productions are always amazing! Thank you for sharing your talent!
Bravo my people! Bravo !! Truly one of the best amateur / high school performances I've ever seen! Keep up the GREAT work fellow thespians. Countless opportunities await you all !
This is very good for a High School musical and was obviously appreciated by the audience. I thought Miss Adelaide was very good, and liked Nathan, but the young man playing Nicely-Nicely Johnson was great. I also liked his sidekicks Benny and Rusty. A really enjoyable production.
This is so incredibly stunning. My high school can only hope to do as wonderfully as y’all! I’ve got callbacks for Adelaide tomorrow though, wish me luck!!
Max Rodriguez belongs on Broadway. Outstanding performance as Nicely-Nicely Johnson. Logan, Nick, and Annika also really stand out. I've seen a lot of high school musicals on TH-cam (I teach Broadway) and yours is one of the best.
I'm an old lonely moffie in Johannesburg, South Africa. I always knew the music, but not the story. Congratulations to you for a marvelous production. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done. 🎉
Too bad the movie substituted Adelaide's 'Pet Me, Papa' for 'A Bushel and a Peck' because it was already so popular on the radio, and cut other numbers altogether, notably the 'Marry the Man Today' duet.
To my dear fellow thesbians: WHY IS Y'ALL'S BUDGET SO BIG??? (Also, how do you get that many boys involved in musical theater? That would be nice to know, as well.🙂) Anyways, you guys are crazy talented, and every single one of you deserves to be on Broadway. Actually, is there a way to transfer this cast directly to Broadway? Because somebody really needs to do that. :)
kjahdfksgdjadl just finished a production of this musical yesterday. it was my first big company show, i was a mission doll and it was so much fun! the raid will forever remain my favorite scene from the show
This is insane high quality for a high school production!! I wish my school had half the things this production had! I was Arvide Abernathy in high school, and I am waiting to hear about callbacks for a college production I auditioned for! Really hoping for Nicely-Nicely!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I was the one who actually soldered and wired up those neon signs... february 2020, freshman year, just weeks before the total shutdown of everything...
Hi Cy---I was just getting ready to email the Ridge Theatre Dept. about those neon signs. Did you guys rent those? I am directing a high school production---we open in March---and I love the neon and all your sets. Wondering if you built them or rented them...thanks---Carrie Francis
@@carriefrancis8839 We built the neon signs from scratch. Our set crew designed them, cut out the frames, and routed out the paths in the wooden frames. I was responsible for embedding 12v neon LED strips inside those paths and soldering them all together on the back. If you guys want to do a similar thing, I'd be happy to give you advice on the process! For context, I was also responsible for the electronics for the illuminated blocks around the proscenium for Matilda and the linear effect light tubes for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.
@@cywestbrook7448 School started, so I got side-tracked:/ Wow, thank you, Cy. No wonder they are so unique and fabulous. Absolutely stunning. We have our first production meeting this week. How long did it take you guys to design and build that?---and where is it now?
@@carriefrancis8839 I wasn't involved in the initial design and cutting of the wood, since that was the set crew's job, but I know my job of cutting, soldering, and wiring all the LED strips together took about 1-2 weeks. As to where they are now, I was actually trying to find them the other day in the closet we put them in, but they weren't there - I'm worried someone might have thrown them out, which would be a shame since I wanted to take one home before graduating.

@@itsfareedaa4346 oh my gosh that's so cool break a leg!! Okay the best things I learned from going to auditions are 1. Don't be nervous. I know it's super nerve-wracking and everyone is nervous but you should do your best not to think about how nervous you are because it'll just make it worse haha and 2. Telling the story is more important than singing perfectly. If you miss the high note, but you don't apologize on your face, and you convey the story in everything you do, the panel will consider you way more than if you seem nervous and like you don't know how to tell a story. Hope this helped! Break a leg! :D
