I've been doing this for a few years now, trying various juice combo's. I bought a few glass 1 gallon jugs at a yard sale, some airlocks and a few other simple wine making supplies. Mixing different juices will give you such a wide variety of flavors. I use the same recipe you mention, only X's 3. A person can adjust the amount of sugar to suit their taste? Most of my batches end up around a 10% alcohol volume. 😎
I haven't tried a "no sugar" recipe? If you do, let us know the results.. I suppose the juice would have to have enough natural sugar to feed the yeast?
So its been a month today since I tried my first homemade Hooch and my wife loves it. Had no idea she was such a cheap date and that this was going to be as good as it was for a few bucks. Thanks for sharing, love the channel
I made that years ago with my grandma. She use to put it in a jug with a balloon on the top. It would kick your butt. I have her recipe and my sisters and I have made it. It’s fun to experiment.
Great video 👍. We have done root beer wine and a few apple cider. We take the cap off and use a balloon. It expands under fermentation and it will start sucking shrink when it's done. Really cool seeing your recipe and way. Looking forward to your next upload
I would have never known! Now when I get back to Minnesota (I’ve been in NJ visiting my granddaughters for the past 3 weeks) I’m going to make some wine .Thanks for sharing this. Thanks for having River in the background, he’s gorgeous. ❤️✌🏻🍷
Thanks for the video Terry! I believe that this recipe is similar to the product made by inmates called “Pruno.” 😜 We had a neighbor where I grew up who was known for his frugality. He used to make his own wine from Kool-Aid. I think that he used to put a balloon on the bottle tops to allow it to off gas without letting contamination get into the bottle.
I haven't done that in years. Orange juice and grapefruit juice were always good for mixing. I may have to go to the store and buy some ingredients for a pineapple wine. I don't drink but it would be fun to make and taste test.
Gotta try this.....thank you. Grape, Apple, Cherry, and if I can find Blueberry juice, that too, or may have to buy frozen blueberries and mash them...but seems like that would take a lot of berries. Costco trip. Lol
Pretty much except for the actual yeast instead of a piece of bread. Just make sure the juice doesn't have preservatives in it or it will kill the yeast.
I was doing this method and ended up with over 100 gallons in my basement lol! My family got "concerned" and divvied it up between themselves. Well at least I know how to make it if/when shtf
Pretty much just burped it a couple times a day for a couple weeks then just left it sit in the basement. After six months I got up the nerve to try it.Two coffee cup full and I was definitely feeling it. I just kept saying it worked it worked. I think the most important part is screening out all of the sediment cause its like drinking sand if dont.
My friend would use home made wine and freeze a can of sweetened condensed milk, mix it and they call it Silly Bub( this was old farmers on a hot day after work)
The grape is ok. My son and his girlfriend drank it. She liked it he didn't so much. The apple didn't do well. Then I noticed it had a preservative in the ingredients. Which is exactly what I said NOT to do. So that failed to ferment. Lessons learned. But I know the theory works and now I'm working on less sugar to see how that goes.
Thank you for for answering my question. Made grape juice wine is was ok I always try apple juice it was really bad ,now I’m making win😢from white grapes juice and used wine yeaste
Hello Sir. Are you the one who advertises cheap ways of wine production instead of preparing your farm for winter? In Poland, such advertising is punishable.😄😄😄😃
Salute

Have you tried not using any sugar? I might try that next time

Awesome! It's not a fine wine but a great place to start for experimenting

Very cool! I think it more fun to make it than to drink it!
I was laughing when you came back with your peace of paper🤣, nice job with the video.
Thanks!
Cool recipe
So easy!

Root beer? That sounds amazing. How do you do that?
Great video Terry!
thanks!

Safe travels!
Thanks for the information.I will definitely try this.
Most welcome 😊
Wow super easy!! Thank you 🍷
You’re welcome 😊
Great tip! I will definitely try this. Thanks for sharing. Btw, the livestream was great last night. Hope you do more.
I think I will it was fun!
That’s crazy cool!
Thanks!

Kook aid! I suppose the sugar would turn and the flavor could be anything! Orange wine!!! Sounds interesting

I'm the same, I don't drink but I like the experimentation process.
Great video. Red wine gives me a headache so I’d probably go with white grape juice. I prefer sweeter wines anyway such as Moscato. Thanks, Terry!
I think the experimentation is the fun part!
@@TRERUNSWILD And then you get to drink the experiment. Lol
Great video ! Just for bartering of course ! 🙄😎 take care T 🍺🍺
Always!
Im 15🍾🥂
15 and an inventor! Looking forward to your M.I.T. degree!
My mom make fresh blackberry wine, but put a balloon on top. When the balloon was depleted the wine was done. It was fabulous wine.
Sounds wonderful!!
👍
😁

I’d like to move on to berries next. Blackberries…yum
And maybe watermelon
You and River Dog are gonna have one heckuva Halloween Party up there aren't ya?!?
Haha!
My dad used to make a lot of wine.
It’s kind of fun!
😜😜😜❤️
Hello!!
I always have a couple bottles fermenting in my back room and just call it "Hobo Hooch" 😄
That name fits perfectly!
Sounds like prison-hootch. Now I have to try this.
Pretty much except for the actual yeast instead of a piece of bread. Just make sure the juice doesn't have preservatives in it or it will kill the yeast.

Omg! That just made me laugh! Do you do anything special for storage and does it get better with age?
Pretty much just burped it a couple times a day for a couple weeks then just left it sit in the basement. I will trade you a chicken for a bottle of that hooch???????? Thats some good livin right there!!!
That would be a deal!!
FYI I just saw Walmart is recalling it's apple juice. Too much arsenic.
Good to know!
My friend would use home made wine and freeze a can of sweetened condensed milk, mix it and they call it Silly Bub( this was old farmers on a hot day after work)
Oh boy. I’m sure it tasted ok but in my mind it sounds like it would taste horrible!! 😂
Did River get into the wine? 🤣🤣
Not yet!
@@TRERUNSWILD lol
How did your wine turn out ,any luck with apple juice?
The grape is ok. My son and his girlfriend drank it. She liked it he didn't so much. The apple didn't do well. Then I noticed it had a preservative in the ingredients. Which is exactly what I said NOT to do. So that failed to ferment. Lessons learned. But I know the theory works and now I'm working on less sugar to see how that goes.

Shine makes ya more $$. Spoken from a retired Ohio Liquor Agent. But wine is purely legal.
Plus no one ever blew themselves up with wine! 😁
@@TRERUNSWILD truth!
I think I’d set it a 5 gallon bucket just for mess prevention, know where I’m coming from?😂
Sounds like a story hidden in there!!
Husband material😍
I;m old, fat and snore horribly. But I appreciate your confidence in me.
Well, that makes the two of us!@@TRERUNSWILD
I thought you were a former cop, why are you making prison wine??😅😅❤
It’s all in the name of science!
LMAO isn’t this a jail recipe
Pretty much. Except in jail a slice of bread is usually the source of yeast i think.
Paw paw says you can make it out of any juice just not cool 😎 aid
As long as it doesn’t have preservatives in it. They kill the yeast.
@TRERUNSWILD thank you
I ruined my apple wine because of this. It sat and didn’t do anything until I realized why.
Life is way to short to be drinking crappie wine, unless you’re like 14 years old.
Crappie wine? Like from a fish? 😂 yeah that would suck!

He’s able to do both ☺️
Ha! Good thing I don’t live in Poland!!
