Heachan wasn't in dance because at that time he was on tour with NCT 127. And no Mark because he "graduated" out of Dream, but then they took him right back! No one can get rid of Mark - hardest working person in kpop.
Except SuperM has been on pause couple years now and will be on pause because Taeyong is enlisting later in this year. So basically Mark and Haechan are equally hard working. Haechan seem to have more health problems due the overworking. You really can see how exhausted both of them are 😕
@@mnjk1558 I agree with the overworking. And Haechan especially doesn't look like he's being taken care of. Mark has done more solo stuff, too, though. And probably writes some of his raps. I love both of them, Haechan actually probably more. But Mark's energy is contagious and so funny in interviews.
@@hortbeck I would say Mark writes more than some of his raps. He currently has writing credits on roughly 70 songs including tracks for NCT U, 127, Dream and SuperM in addition to his many collabs and his solo stuff. And just like Taeyong, he has loads of stuff written that has never been released.
But I see little point in comparing the workloads of Mark and Haechan. They are both intensely committed to the teams they are in and love what they do while also feeling a great desire not to disappoint anyone (including fans). At least that is the feeling I get from both. And I wouldn't want them to ever have to chose between their teams. As 127 slows down due to enlistments soon I hope it will ease some of their burden (although I predict they will both fill up any open time with solo projects and their own ambitions)

During this song. Mark "Graduated" from NCT Dream since NCT Dream had Graduation system where when members become adults which is i think 20 in Korea, they move to a different unit. Until the company decided later that the system will not work for several reasons and later, they put Mark back in and made them a static group. Haechan wasn't dancing because just like Mark they are both also in NCT 127 and at that time they were doing promotions for "Superhuman" so Haechan made it back to Korea to shoot about half of the MV.
Because "Boom" came out in 2019 there were only 6 members in NCT-Dream. Mark had "graduated" from NCT-Dream and he was no longer included in NCT-Dream activities. However, Haechan, who also is a member of NCT-127, was just recovering from an injury, as well as promoting as a member of NCT-127 with Mark in the U.S. at this time, so he was only able to participate in part of the MV. That's why you only see all 6 of them at the end. In the beginning of the MV there was only 5 members, but by the end there are a few scenes with all 6 members.
NCT's whole group concept is about dreams, dreaming or being in a dream state, so what you see happening in most of their MVs, across all of their sub-units, is something to do with their dream concept. Therefore, what is happening in NCT-Dream's "Boom" MV can be interpreted as things that are happening within a dream and the song is about dreaming and dreams, etc.
The whole point of "Boom" is to show how much the Dream members have grown and matured, etc.
I always find it funny that Jisung, who was the maknae of NCT, is the member who is the tallest and the one with the deepest voice. "Boom" is where we see Jisung turn from a boy into a young man.
You should check out the dance practice for "Boom."
To get to know NCT-Dream better, it makes more sense to react to their MVs in order of when they were released. As you will start to discover, as you go along and see some of NCT-Dream's older material, you will see and hear how their style has grown and changed over time. That is also part of the group's concept. As the members grow and mature so too does their sound and style. That is why they debuted with their song "Chewing Gum," which has a very cute and bubbly concept that fits the fact that they were all teenagers at the time. They had to grow and mature into the sound you hear in "Boom." SM's no dummy when it comes to creating groups that gain global popularity. It just goes to show you why it's one of the Big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and why it has global influence around the world. :D
NCT is a very international group. For example, in NCT-Dream the members speak at least 5 languages. Mark, the leader of NCT-Dream, is Korean-Canadian, so his first language is English; RenJun and Chenle are Chinese, so their first language is Mandarin; and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and Jisung are Korean. Plus, they are only a small faction of what makes up the whole group of NCT.
NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016, and it is made up of what was the 7 youngest members of the NCT at the time. (NCT's newest Japanese sub-unit NCT-WISH, that just debuted a week or so ago now includes some of NCT's youngest members.) All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 21 and 24 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.) Mark is the oldest of the Dream members, and Jisung was the youngest of all of NCT for 7 years.
SM Entertainment originally created NCT-Dream with the idea that if they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees.
SM's original plan was that when the Dream members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they were no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun we thought would be graduating in 2019 and form a new NCT sub-unit or be add to a sub-unit that already existed. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut sometime in 2020 and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM announced at the beginning of 2020 that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole "graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group.
NCT was created as part of SM's plan to achieve global domination and one of the ways the company plans to accomplish that is to make music that reaches all types of fans all over the world, including younger fans.
NCT-Dream became popular because they were different then all the other groups that were out there at the time of their debut. The Kpop industry is full of young groups who are trying to appeal to a more mature demographic. Therefore, fans appreciate Dream for the fact that they embrace their age and don't try to act and sound older than they are.

Your confusion is understandable lol, Boom is admittedly a very difficult MV to pick as an intro to Dream 😂
Essentially, Mark is the only member of Dream who does not make an appearance in this video, as Dream was initially on a “graduation” system wherein members would age out of the group at the Korean age of adulthood. However, Dream’s group dynamic was so universally adored that SM ultimately did away with the graduation system and brought Mark back permanently. You will often see the full group referred to as 7Dream (especially by Mark who loves his dreamies very much).
The other member that is seen only part of the time in this video is Haechan (aka high-voice guy on the far right in the killing voice). Haechan, like Mark, is a member of both Dream and 127. Haechan is missing from parts of this MV due to scheduling conflicts between the groups.
The other 5 members are:
-Renjun (killing voice yellow jumper),
-jeno (killing voice white hair),
-jaemin (killing voice pink hair rapper),
-chenle (killing voice “cactus” - appearing here with pink hair/corn rows), and

Honestly watching their vlogs helped me understand /identify nct in general. They have endless episodes where they do random shizz and their personalities are just so distinct it's hard not to get to know them.

Hi love your NCT reactions. I think you guys would love watching their Debut video Chewing Gum, My First and Last and We Young because you can literally watch them grow. They've been together so long. They literally grew up together. Fun fact predebut the majority of Dream's members were also Mouseketeers (just like future pop greats Britney Spears, Christina Aquilera, Justin Timberlake, etc.). Those five members were Mark, Jeno, Haechan (Donghyuck) Jaemin, and Jisung. Our beloved C-Line boys Renjun and Chenle were added at debut. You'll notice slight line up changes due to injury or the graduation system. Originally all dream members were to graduate from dream and enter other subunits. So Dream wasn't intended to be a fixed unit but they became so beloved that fans couldn't stand watching them be seperated. So they became fixed. I suspect Renjun and Chenle who are Chinese were eventually meant to become Way V members, etc. I hope maybe that info helps with why some members have left units. For instance WinWin who is also Chinese was in 127 but once they acquired enough members for a Chinese unit -he moved over to WayV. Watching their evolution is one of the great joys of being an Nctzen. Thank you for making a little space in your heart for our boys 💚.

NCT Dream has 7 members when they debuted in 2016. Initial concept was member has to graduate once hits 20 yrs old. 2018 Mark graduated. They were not too active 2016 to 2020 sharing Mark and Haechan with 127, meaning only one mini album every year & several EP and singles. April 2020 SM brought back Mark to 7Dream & abolished graduation concept, well you will do it if you have the whole concert hall shouted "fixed unit". During period 2018 to 2020 when they operated as 6 members they have Boom and Ridin'. MV shooting for Boom were 2 days and since Haechan in US tour with 127 he only joined one day. NCT Dream only has full album in 2021 with HotSouce and has their first World Tour in 2022. Their story will fit Netflix drama since when they started in 2016 they only performed at the red carpet of MAMA ( not even on the stage), perform in a small event attended by 600 fans, held 1st concert in 4.5K concert hall to have the 2nd tour the Dream Show 2 in Jamsil main stadium in front of 130K people for 2 days. Not mentioned some big stages in Asia. Mostly they promote as 7 during music shows meaning 2 to 4 weeks during come back time and promote the rest of year as 5. For example in 2022 they performed as 5D in 12 out of 13 festival/join concerts. Anyway they are now one of the biggest BG in Korea, mostly super popular in Asia, selling cummulative 16 plus million albums during their career their next album is rumoured to be in March or April and they will also soon embark their next world tour TDS3

And the one you said wasn't in the Killing Voice is Renjun, the one that had the yellow top. LOL! the confusion is so real when learning a new group... They are NOT that confusing.
It's just that, during this particular time, Dream went through Mark's "Graduation." That was the original system SM wanted to apply to this group, where the oldest member at the time would graduate at a certain age, and MAYBE a new member was going to be introduced to the group. They were meant to be a rotational group. However, that system didn't work, so eventually, Mark returned to Dream, and they became a fixed group.
Also, Haechan, the one that keeps disappearing in the video, is in NCT 127 too. At that time, they were on tour, and he didn't get the chance to be in the whole video.
This was a confusing video to begin with JAJAJA. You need to see the whole story of NCT Dream. You need to see the whole story of NCT Dream.
When you can't find a person who should be in a group know there was an issue that's why they aren't present. Not just NCT every group. As explained the graduation system and NCT 127 tour was the issue. Also in some Kpop videos a person might be injured that is why they are not present... other times they are present but can't dance like Kai in EXO - Lotto (leg injury, he's sitting in every shot). You did well with the faces. Great reaction.

Dream has had to be incredibly flexible due to a number of different factors so it can be extra difficult for new fans to track who is in what MV and why.
Jaemin missed two comebacks early on (2017) because of a back injury so you won't see him in either 'My First and Last' or 'We Young' original videos. (Which are both some of my fav choreo that NCT has ever done, so impressive)
Mark missed two comebacks in 2019-2020 because he had graduated from the group for a time.
You will also see them performing as 5 members sometimes because even though we are very very grateful the graduation system was removed, it does mean that both Mark and Haechan have had extra intense schedules being in both 127 and Dream and those clash sometimes. But 127 is slowing down soon since Taeyong is due to enlist soon (and Taeil once his injury allows) so we'll see if that gives Mark and Haechan some more downtime....
So yeah, there can be 7Dream, 6Dream or 5Dream as circumstances require and the bestest is when we have 7Dream because they are soooo happy together.
Random bit of trivia: they have a nickname in Korea that kinda translates to "vegetable tempura" because they are always clingy with each other like fried food that likes to stick to itself.
LMAO yeah Renjun with different haircuts and hair colors definitely will make ur life harder, he looks way more grown and serious with dark hair (while he looks like a fluffy fairy with light hair)-

Can you react to 'Korean Englishman' Channel interview with Mark and Jaehyun from nct. They are very funny, won't regret
They are good knows how to make their guests comfortable.
Dreamies had a graduation concept where they left the group once they turned 20 and join a new unit. Therefore, Mark graduated in 2018 and it was really sad for both the members and fans. The rest of 6 members had the next comeback with Boom which blew up and Dream just kept getting massively popular. In the end of 2019, four of the Dream members were to graduate, however, due to the fans protesting and their growing fanbase, SM decided to cancel the graduation concept and brought Mark back in. So, now from 2021, Dream is complete and a fixed unit with 7 members. Graduation song by Nct Dream is about this and talks about the anxiety related with that concept. Its still a really emotional matter for both the members and fans.(Sorry, for any errors, English is not my first language!🥲)
Due to Mark and Haechan being also active with 127 sometimes it happens that Dream for example has live performances with just 5 members.
Sometimes in kpop in general you will come across music videos where a member or even two will be missing....for various reasons....sometimes it may be a hiatus due to health conditions, military service, or being active in more units and schedules overlap, members leave the group and so on and on.
Maybe you should do a NCT guide to understand their concept more.
In this case though people already explained why Mark wasnt there and Haechan was partially in the video.
Please do their newest stuff in the next reaction. Broken melodies or ISTJ....or both. NCT generally has also sooo many good live performances. They had a whole concert at the end of last year as the whole NCT (minus NCT Wish because they still havent had their official debut). I would recommend the concert in Japan because the camera work is better. So NCT U songs are mostly sung but each unit had their few moments as well.
oh btw I believe you would love NCT DoJaeJung (3 members who are also 127) song "Perfume". That is such a good song. They have a mini album out which is very very good.

There's a lot of reason the graduation system is abolished and one of it is their chemistry as 7. Fans really like them as group so they beg the company to keep them as 7. All 7 of them are really close to each other as they had been together since they are very young. Some of them had became a trainee since they are 13. So their closeness really shown and after being freed from graduation, Mark said that he's happy to be together w Dream again and said that the graduation system is very traumatic experience for them. Mark is Dream's leader. TMI, NCT Dream's members are called 'dreamies' by other members, staff and fans. And they often called themselves 7dream and that name (7dream) are also use by Korean fans and media to refer to NCT Dream

Boom came out 2019 and mark graduated in 2018 so We Go up was his last comeback with dream and heachan was not on the dancing part becoz he was on the origin tour with 127.
Dream debuted with a concept of graduating members once they turn 20 and be put to another nct unit then new teen members will take over in 2020 4members (jeno,heachan,renjun,jaemin) was supposed to graduate but thankfully SM remove the concept and they release their last 6member MV Ridin. The following year Mark came back and they release their 1st full album (yes it took them 5yrs) hotsauce that is why they have a song called Graduation "they are graduating from the graduation system" - hope my explaination answers ur questions

originally NCT had a limitless concept where more members would continue to be added however, as of last year that limitless concept has been cancelled.
As of this year, 2024 NCT will have a new unit that consists of 6 members, this unit is called “NCT WISH”
Due to some controversial issues NCT’s member Lucas officially left the group in 2023 and their members Sungchan and Shotaro were both pulled out of the group to be redebuted into SM’s new boy group RIIZE who debuted on September 4th 2023
So NCT lost three members in 2023 leaving us with 20 instead of 23
As soon as NCT WISH officially debut the group will then consist of 26 members
Part of NCT’s concept has to do with Dream’s and Visions, which they all share and are connected through these visions and dreams

the U in nctu stands for United
Basically in this unit any member of the group can be included

where as their song
“Baby Don’t Stop” consists of only two members : Taeyong and Ten
or their song
“THE BAT” which consists of : Yuta, Johnny, Hendery, Taeil, Jungwoo, Jisung and Jeno
Each member is chosen based on who’s voice may fit the song best in this situation or if their appearance may fit the concept of the song best
•NCTU debuted on April 9th 2016 with the members
Taeyong, Mark, Jaehyun, Doyoung & Ten
these five members are referred to as the root members of NCT

NCT127 debuted on July 7th 2016 with their debut song FireTruck
at the time nct127 only consisted of 7 members
Taeyong, Jaehyun, Mark, Haechan, Taeil, Yuta & Winwin
(hence the limitless concept)
In their 2017 when nct127 made a comeback with their song “Limitless”, two more members were added to the group,
Johnny and Doyoung
-in 2018 Jungwoo was added to NCT127 and at the end of 2018 Winwin left NCT127 -

•NCTDREAM
NCTDREAM debuted on August 24th 2016 with their song “Chewing Gum”
NCTDREAM debuted at a young age with their youngest member being 14 (now 21 turning 22 ) and their eldest member being 17 (now 24 turning 25)
Because of how young they were NCTDREAM debuted with the concept of dreams, youth and innocence
Their music is supposed to grow as they begin to group up (it very much has)
Their music was more childlike (but still rly good actually) and has continued to grow and get even better and more mature as they mature
NCTdream originally debuted with a ‘graduation system’
basically, once the members had reached the adult age in Korea (20) they were to graduate from the group and put into another NCT unit and more people would join the group as NCT originally had a limitless concept but, there were no more people to add to the group so they realized the graduation system was a dumb idea and cancelled it

Mark being the oldest was the first and only members to graduate from the group
He graduated at the end of 2018 and the group continued as a 6 members group for 2yrs until the end of 2020 when it was announced that he would be coming back to NCTDREAM
During those two years DREAM released two mini albums
“We Boom” in 2019 with the title track “BOOM” and “Reload ” in 2020 with the title track “Ridin’ “
I believe the company also realized that 4 of the 6 remaining members would’ve been graduating at the same time as they are all the same age, meaning that NCT dream would’ve been left a 2 member unit💀
So in 2020 when NCT2020 was taking place Mark officially redebuted into NCTDREAM with their song “Déjà Vu”
[ and yes Mark and Haechan are both in NCT127 and NCTDREAM so they’re always extremely busy and overworked😕 ]
during the year 2017, if you continue getting into NCT and listen NCTDREAM songs from 2017, like My First and Last or We Young, you may notice there are only 6members and that is because Jaemin had gone on hiatus due to a herniated disc however he came off of his hiatus in 2018 when NCT2018 was happening
NCTDREAM Currently have 3 full length albums, 2 repackaged albums and 6 mini albums

WayV debuted on January 17th 2019 with a Chinese version of NCT127’s song Regular
The reason they debuted with one of 127’s songs but in Mandarin is because they don’t have NCT in their name so it was basically for people to recognize that they’re from the same group
The reason they don’t have NCT in their name is because of the political reasons between South Korea and China so WayV perform under SM’s Chinese label, “Label V”
Now, yes Winwin was in 127 but because he is Chinese he was pulled out of NCT127 and set to redebut in WayV instead
as I said before NCT’s concept has to do with Dreams and Visions
WayV stands for “We Are Your Vision” since they couldn’t NCT in their names they still found a way to link them to the group
WayV currently has 2 full length albums, 1 Japanese single, 4 mini albums, and 1 EP
•NCT DOJAEJUNG
as of this 2023. NCT officially have a new Unit
this unit consisted of 3 members

•NCT2018 - EMPATHY
in 2018, they had an album realized consisting of all nct members
Adding three new members in the process

after this event was over Jungwoo debuted in NCT127 and in the beginning of 2019 Lucas and Kun debuted into WayV
•NCT2020 - RESONANCE
this is probably the most iconic NCT thing consisting of all the members
It was a lot of fun seeing all 23 members together including two new members
and I’m sure they had a lot of fun during 2020 as well
the songs on the album for NCT2020
“RESONANCE” are extremely good and I’d recommend listening to that whole damn album, this is actually the album that made me fall in love with them 🤷♀
in 2020 Sungchan and Shotaro had debuted into NCT but had not been placed into any units except for NCT U but every member of NCT are in this unit so- it doesn’t rly count yk-
I mentioned them earlier and they two sadly are no longer apart of NCT but are now a part of the group RIIZE who is SM’s new boy group that debuted on September 4th 2023 (I have 100% be supporting them because my boys Sungchan and Shotaro are there so- yk and ofc I fell for all the members yk😪)
NCT2021 - UNIVERSE
NCT had another album with all the members
This album is also rly good
The entire event wasn’t has good as 2020 or 2018 because it wasn’t as organized but the music still ate so😋
no new members were added in 2021 nor 2022
NCT2023 - GOLDEN AGE
NCT had a concert with all their members (except for Taeil who had very recently been in an accident and wasn’t able to take part in any schedules for the last couple months and is still on hiatus)
Two days after the concert they released their album “Golden Age”
other miscellaneous things -
they rly do have the best rap line and some of the best vocalists in the industry
And somehow managed to end up with some of the best dancers in the industry too
(and I’m rly not being biased when I say this like I actually mean it😭)
NCT’s Discography is insane honestly they’re music is incredible and they have a little bit of something for everyone

Its really not you. It's perfectly understandable.
In short terms, for Boom mark left the group and haechan wasn't able to make it to some mv shoots cause of 127 activities overlapping.
To explain a bit more, Mark "graduated" or in other words left the group cause he turn an adult in 2018 which is basically wjat NCT Dream's concept used to be.
A very emotional time for the fans and members. #SMshouldpayforourtherapy.
Because fans protested and because Mark wanted to, he came back into the group in 2021 with the release of their first album in 5 years 'Hot Sauce'. Now NCT Dream is a fixed 7 member group with no members being added or leaving.
