Fantasia No.1 by Luis de Milán (c.1500-1561) - Originally for vihuela. PDF sheet music arranged for classical guitar. The level is intermediate (Grade 6).
Fantasía No.1 by Luis de Milán (c.1500-1561), also Luys Milán, come from his Libro de música de vihuela de mano intitulado El Maestro (1536). One of the first published music collections for the vihuela de mano. There are many editions of this music available but this edition focuses on voice leading and legato connection.
➔ This video was performed on a Douglass Scott classical guitar with Aquila Cristallo hard tension strings and a Le Support guitar rest. See all my gear here: www.thisisclas...

Great playing and interpretation. Very helpful and insightful analysis of the musical structure. 🙏👏
Glad you liked it!
Hello!
Now learning classical guitar with your free pdf book and videos, thanks for this work!
Nice, enjoy the method book. Take it slow!
@@Thisisclassicalguitar thanks!
Finding your website was like finding a gem, it looks like there aren't any structured classical guitar learning materials out there, at least in my language.
Already bought vol.2, though it feels like it'll be a while before I actually need it...
Just started learning. I will probably never catch up to all the lessons you put up here 😅. Thank you !
Very nice Melody and an excellent tutorial Maestro ! Thank you for the Lesson
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful piece, thanks for introducing it and the composer to me. Excellent video as always
Thanks for listening! Yes, I love these fantasias by Milan, some much good musical content and yet somewhat free in style too.
I love this piece. Its being a wile...I'll probably playit again. Thanks for reminding of this piece!
Ya, it's great. Maybe we'll see a lesson and edition from you?!
@@Thisisclassicalguitar well probably yes :D, but not soon. Thx for being a great example!
Excellent
It's a little over my head but such a beautiful melody. I bought the sheet music and will start working on the first few measures.
My graded books have some easier material in them as well as introductions to the tuning etc.
I don't think I've ever come across a peace of classical guitar music where a capo is used.
Classical guitarist use it often when playing lute music, I have a video on it here: www.thisisclassicalguitar.com/why-guitarists-use-lute-tuning-capos-for-renaissance-music/
It’s used all the time. See David Russel’s Bach suite 998 recordings, he uses it to get to the original key of Eb. It’s just a tool. Flamenco and South American music seems to use it a lot too.
