It wasn't necessarily the Life in Germany videos that got me interested to subscribe, it was more of how articulate and insightful your thoughts are about life in Germany, just as your insights about life in general is like in this video. I'm impressed with how level headed you seem to be, and you've got a distinct and strong voice when you speak, it was never condescending but always with the intent of clarifying things. I enjoy your vlogs and I'm glad you're back.

I am sad for ending the life in germany series. I moved to Stuttgart 3 years ago, and somehow found your chanel and started to watch and learn more about Stuttgart. You helped me in my first months here, and I am very sad that its coming to an end. But I do understand you, and wishing you all the best ☺️

    Hi Sam Walton,
Just wanted to let you know that I just discovered your videos of Life in Germany on TH-cam. 60 years ago, at the age of 13, my parents, 2 older brothers and I moved to the USA from Stuttgart, Feuerbach Germany to Baltimore, Maryland. I never got to go back to visit Stuttgart Germany in all these years. However, thanks to your videos of the trips you and your family made in and around the areas of Stuttgart, I got to see and tour my old city of Stuttgart, Germany. It was nice to ses that Stuttgart is as charming as ever.
Sam Walton, thank you and keep up the good work.

I started watching your videos on Germany about a year ago, while preparing to move to Frankfurt (been here 6 months now). They were very helpful, and we even visited Mainau Island because of your video on it! We also did a Barfußpfad. :) Anyway, I love your personality and sense of humor...I will keep watching no matter the topic! :)

Pictures and video are great reminders of places and experiences. I thumb through an album and remember places I had forgotten going to. But, those who are always looking through the lens of a camera miss the moment. I feel the same way about people who go to a show & aren't really enjoying it because they are just recording it (and probably never watch the recording).
I have always thought you were way more intelligent and life savvy than your age suggests. You have proven it once again with your well thought and well spoken comments. I salute you, Sir! Keep up the good work.

+Bob Hepburn Thank you! :D I feel the same way about people recording street performers... Like two dozen people standing around all with their phones out instead of just enjoying it in the moment. Oh whale. :)

We watched you embrace a new adventure of your life when your family decided to move to Germany. Now, we look forward to the new adventures that life has in store for you. Unlike many others who go kicking and screaming into the night, you venture forth boldly. Who can fault you for that? It is knowledgeable to know when something has come to an end; it is wise when you know when something should end. You have broken a path through your vlogs of how others can take a circumstance of life and embrace it positively and productively. We have had the privilege to see you grow up and mature through your videos and photography. I am sure that your parents must feel a distinct pride in the young man who you have become. Good luck in your new adventures, we look forward to garnering a glimpse for all that you have in store.

What about doing a series of touring cities in the South? Give people who follow you from all different countries a view of what life and cities are like in the southern parts of the US. Might be tough on a student budget, but it may be interesting. The South is a polarizing and diverse part of our nation that many people may be interested in learning about.

Back in 2013, I used to watch your life in Germany realtalk videos and vlogs. To be fair, being German myself, I was entertained by them but couldn't really get were you are coming from sometimes, like when you talked about what things that you find foreign about Germany. Even in small Europe, you can get ignorant towards the differences of other countries/cultures.
In 2015, I moved to Ireland, and I remembered you vids (kinda lost touch to your channel, and just found it again today) and for the first time I saw how astonished one can be about differences in daily life in other countries, that even seemingly similar cultures can be totally different in detail.
There's things one got to experience himself to feel them!

Sam, I've been watching your videos about adapting to germany and stuttgart in particular. My daughter just got to Stuttgart. She's moved into a dorm, and is freaking out. It's filthy, and has bugs. She needs to get out of there. Do you know of anyone who you might be able to reach out to, that might be willing to act as a host family for her. She's a good kid, who would help around the house and would be no trouble. She needs a place until 12/23. I hope you can help. Let me know.

see, i watched all your "Life in germany"- vids in about 14 days 3 years ago. i really liked 'em. they where something different to all the other germanyvids here on youtube! 'cause they sparkled a bit of authenticity that the most other really lack... Since then i check your channel every now and then and i was allways happy, if u did upload something, watched it right away.
But now u are in college (or on?) and u grew up, despite what many people say, thats totally fine! Channels change...
