My pleasure! It’s particularly difficult these days as you don’t have the chance to go to a hoop shop to try them out. Wishing you lots of fun on your hoop journey 🤩
I love this video. Very informative thank you!!! Although... just want to point out that 162cm is not 5’5”. It’s closer to 5’3”-5’4” if anyone is interested.
I tried to use one of the 1.3kg fitness hoops, and I my back was so sore as the hoop was too heavy and you feel like someone beat you up. Not sure what build you have to be to handle that?
Hi Lana, yes, it sounds like the 1.3kg hoop is too heavy for you. The best thing to do would be to try with an HDPE hoop with 25mm (1 inch) thickness tubing. The one I show in the video is 100mm in diameter and weighs 620g. If a hoop like this is still a struggle to maintain around the waist, then you can increase the diameter. This will increase the weight but not as much as 1.3kg. However it will also move slower and be easier to maintain. What hoop are you using now?
It depends where you are. Where are you based? I’d look on Etsy for local hoop makers. In Berlin I can recommend Sacred Circle Stores and in The UK Jennie Brennan or Hoopspin
Yes! Its an aerobic exercise that will cause weight-loss all over the body (with a healthy diet). Exactly where you lose weight does depend on your body type. However hula hooping definitly strengthens the core and tones the abdominals. It helped me to achieve my weight-loss goals and feel stronger. I was overweight before, so I still have some loose skin around my belly area. This has been the hardest bit to shift. However I can see muscle tone under the skin and notice the additional strength in my core everyday. Doing just a little bit everyday will make a massive difference :D
Im still a little confused. I'm 5 ft 7.5 in, very long torso and I bruise easily. My fit level from 1 to 6 is presently 3, however I have a belly. Any suggestions?
What would you prefer to use the hoop for? If its fitness, I would suggest a hoop with HDPE/MDPE 25mm (1" ) thickness tubing. As you mentioned that you bruise easily I wouldn't recommend a weighted hoop. I made a video specifically talking about hula hoops for fitness. th-cam.com/video/XHIEZUo2yIY/w-d-xo.html If you'd like to go for tricks and more off-body hooping, then a lighter / thinner hoop would be better: 20mm or 16mm thickness tubing. Circumference-wise, I like to be able to hold the hoop in front of me with both hands and be able to twiddle it around with my fingers, without hitting my chest.
Thanks so much! You literally answered all my questions.

Hi Nancy, thanks for pointing that out. I'm definitly 5'5", so I guess that makes me 165cm :D

I just ordered my first hula hoop since I've been at home - your videos are making me more excited to get it in the mail 😁
Thanks Olive! I'm happy you enjoy them :)
Olive Sloan that’s amazing! I hope I can help you on your hoop journey 💫
Where should I buy a hoop from?! Am getting very overwhelmed with where to find the right hoops!

If I hula hoop can I also get a body like yours, small waist I mean? It's great for cardio right?
