Tpelzy for it to be truly amarican you need 3 burger pattys and 1 order of large fries and a GIANT Coca-Cola.

Bacon originated from Europe. Most European countries make all desserts like pies and pastries (strudel) with apples so apple pie isn't unique to America either.

My grandmother had a cardio-toxic diet and ate bacon often and saved the fat in a container in the fridge to spread on rye bread. She lived to 96.

Anyway, I really feel like I have to give some credit to the people behind the scenes - I love the new studio and especially the lighting. You really stand out from the background, the green from outside the window compliments the warm interior. The kitchen looks so domestic and beautiful, I really like it.
And Donal - great video, as always. Been following and cooking your recipes for quite some time now and was never disappointed with the results. Keep up the amazing work!

I used the bread, peanut butter bacon, bananas, butter obviously but I also used the bacon grease to add to the taste to fry. The best sandwich I've ever made foreal. I made 2 but could only eat one ! I keep saying hmm hmmm hmmm.😂 I know it was only a sandwich but I'm just so glad I made it. LONG LIVE THE KING 👑 #elvis

Speaking of the King, my uncle often roasted my aunt about her lame cooking. But one time he inexplicably declared, "This food is fit for a king, honey!" Glowing, she left the room for a couple of minutes to "powder her nose." He then put his plate on the floor and quietly called their dog over, "Here, King . . . this is for you, boy!" What a couple they were . . . RIP.

  • @walkingcorpse1224
    @walkingcorpse1224 4 ปีที่แล้ว

You forgot to fry the bananas, and actually the sandwhiches he would eat more than likely had plantains in them, but that part I'm not sure of, only reason I say plantains is cus restaurants that have this item where I live have the big bakers bread and they use those long banana looking fruits which are called plantains. Ah ok, so yes, Elvis' restaurant used what's called a Fool's Gold Loaf Italian Bread, which I kind of figured It had to be large, because the way the bannanas are cut up is like long ways. I prefer it without the bacon, but yeah, very famous sandwhich.

Without the nutella it's not sweet enough. It's a tasty sandwhich, but not special enough to make again. Although, I would make a grilled peanut butter and nutella sandwhich again.

I think it could work with a sandwich maker, too. Do you guys in Ireland/in the UK/in the US know these things? They actually consist of two "shells" between which you can roast the bread without adding more fat to them. In Germany, "Toast Hawaii" is quite popular: it's two slices of bread with cheese, ham and a slice of pineapple.

The recipe that his mother made (where the myth came from) was a peanut-butter and banana sandwich cooked in bacon fat.

One thing we always do with our banana sandwiches is slice the bananas on the bias! It tastes nicer because there's more surface area. Yum!

If you love this sandwich, but don't want to get a stroke or get fat, the healthy version would be to get the toast cripsy in a toster or oven, eliminate bacon and use a healthy variation of the nut butter. Still yummy, nutritious and healthy :)

Elvis loved almost anything fried and their is a cookbook of his favorite "recipes " available for purchase when you visit Graceland. After having you make this sandwich I think you owe it to yourself to visit the king's house.

Thanks for trying but you have to use the crunchy peanut butter grape jelly bananas in baking but you have to toast the bread then you make the sandwich and then you put it in an Skillet fry and you wash it down with some belly wash which is what Elvis called pop Coca-Cola you got to try it that's exactly the way the woman made it for it he loved the woman so much that made him this sandwich lady bought her house the first time she made the same when she messed up to I don't worry you'll get it her name was Miss Mary Jenkins you can look it up on TH-cam

I say dip it in batter and deep fry it with a powdered sugar topping and raspberry jam dipping sauce on the side. Why not die in blaze of glory!

use paper towel to dry excess of oil from bacon but still frying the whole sandwich on that fat.
flipping over the slice with bananas so they won't fall off instead of just placing them on top of the bacon or vice-versa.
no problems if you're just a kid figuring out how to cook though.

I love the Elvis with bacon the most, I sometimes add jelly (or even jam) to make it extra.

Elvis liked the bread toasted before frying.
