Gaethje is rated just fine, I don’t think anyone overrates him. Losing to Dustin (the best fighter to never win a belt as some would say) and former champ Eddie Alverez are not bad losses at all on the record imo

Probably where maybe some of the “overratedness” comes from, but I still think he’s pretty elite. I see a guy losing to only extremely talented former champs excluding Poirier, who was also intrem champ I guess. Not bad imo, the Chandler win at the time was also a great win and another example of Gaethje really sticking with a good gameplan, he was choosing his shots very well in that fight. Khabib mauled prime conor rda dustin johnson barbosa healy tibau and aquainta and mercy ended justin without a problem.
Everything besides the Justin take is good. Gaethje is good cause he brawled his way into the top 5. If he had not done so, he is technically worse than every striker he fought. Crazy thing is the durability and the one punch knockout power he has.

I don’t think he was losing to Burns, it was 1-1 going into the third or at least should’ve been and he comfortably beat Holland who ko’d Buckley. Also Colby was once elite at least in terms of his skillset relative to his division but he never fought the best. he was with Usman who is supposedly an all timer and the second best ww of all time, his interim title win over RDA how dominant he was over Masvidal even though he is a journeyman still an impressive level of domination and how he melted Woodley, Maia, Lawler etc was still showing elite level performances even if they were past it. Agree with every other take though.

Ian had pretty dreadful fight with Neil, and got completely outstruck by MVP and had to resort completely to grappling. Shavkat looked good against Neil but got rocked really bad and his head movement was non existent. He looked dreadful against Wonderboy, got tagged up ok the feet and struggled to get the takedown even though he ended up finishing him. They also both were pretty tentative against each other so why is there so much scrutiny on Jack only?
