It was #1 song for a month and won a Grammy. It was also part of an AIDS benefit concert featuring many more artists. The message in the song was to promote compassion and love. Burt Bachrach, who wrote many of Dionne Warwick's early hits in the 60s, wrote this song. The cast for this song was Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Gladys Knight. They reunited to perform at the 25th anniversary amfAR, American Foundation for AIDS Research, benefit in 2011. Thankfully, all of them are still alive. All of the musicians were also legends and Grammy winners in their own right.
