Ahhh… happy memories of Christmas '91 :-) Opening 'Dizzy's Excellent Adventures' and being treated to not one but TWO brand new, totally amazing Dizzy games! This one features one of the best pieces of music ever to appear on the Spectrum - worthy of a truly epic game, so it's a shame this Dizzy game is relatively brief, with a small map.

I love the music on this, and it was one of the first Speccy games I completed without an ininite lives POKE.

Loved this game but I never fully completed it as I could never find all the cherries.

I remember this one and the other Dizzy games. My childhood is in front of BW tv and ZX Spectrum :) Today I downloaded this game for Android. COOL :D

Absolutely. A lot of modern remakes lack the consistency and class of their original source material. It's a shame because each bad release ultimately leads consumers into a climate of mistrust at the sight of a remake which can only hurt the brand at the end of the day. Please, developers, don't attempt to remake a classic unless you love the original and really get-it. Otherwise what comes out of the other end is a half baked product that basically leaves your player feeling underestimated.

He's right you know... This is much better than the recent iPhone port.

If you haven't heard about it look up Evercade and the Oliver Twins Collection

I actually completed this many years ago, without cheating, this and Wild West Seymour were the 2 Code Masters games I completed.

I played it on zx without additional music, so the music seems so unnecessary to me here...

I know this is like.... 6 months after you responded but I can't help but reply :P
It probably doesn't help that not one person on the project seems to have done their job right, it's VERY buggy (I had to restart because of a glitch), the background while really pretty has an obvious edge to the loop, and the graphic for Dizzy himself is is a poor trace of the old graphics, not how he looks in the artwork.
A port could be brilliant, if it was done justice. :D

The music in both the Amstrad and Spectrum versions (same music) is far better than the music for the Commodore 64 and Amiga (and Atari) IMO. The music in the C64 and Amiga versions is just too generic and ordinary to me and too cheerful. I love the music in this because it has that mystique about it and quite dark and atmospheric and haunting like you're entering a different realm. I would say the most atmospheric and darkest music in the Dizzy games has to be the first Dizzy game. Even the more recent Prince of the Yolkfolk that they remade for the Android uses the same generic cheerful happy go lucky music that the Amiga version has. They could've put in more effort and come up with different music for that game.

Actually, I do like the Amiga music, but yes, this music is BRILLIANT! :-) One of the best pieces of music ever to appear on the Spectrum. It's just a shame the game wasn't too long as this tune deserves to have a FULL game! :-) I also like the music in the original Dizzy - very spooky and totally strange music, and I would love to know what the inspiration was for it.

This game was such a piece of piss even I completed it.
