By early 1958 when this came out it was clear that rock and roll was here to stay for good. My copy of this is on a 78 rpm and played on the modern stereo it will rock the joint.
The power of television was fully realized with this show and no doubt Ricky sold tons of records partly due to him playing his hits on the show. Ed Sullivan first put it into high gear with Elvis & Buddy Holly & eventually accepted rock and roll later on.

Then he went to Ernie Ball and suggested lighter gauge strings for guitars....Thank YOU James!
