      The power of television was fully realized with this show and no doubt Ricky sold tons of records partly due to him playing his hits on the show. Ed Sullivan first put it into high gear with Elvis & Buddy Holly & eventually accepted rock and roll later on.

    • @crlguitar1
      @crlguitar1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lynettepalecek3141 James played a huge roll in rock a billy and popular music in general. He has been guitarist for Elvis, Roy Orbison, Rick Nelson (naturally) and many others. He's still around, and a session man extraordinaire in Tennesee...
      Long ago he wanted thinner strings for his Telecaster so he put banjo strings on so that he could bend notes easier. Then he went to Ernie Ball and suggested lighter gauge strings for guitars....Thank YOU James!

    James,among all of the other things he did,organized Elvis's TCB band in 1969,was the bandleader until Elvis' death in 1977,and was the lead guitar player in his band.Besides being a world class guitar player,he was a great Dobro player.
