  • This video shows some tips and tricks that I have learnt when using resin. It is an ideal tutorial for beginners who are thinking of creating art using resin. The video shows the tips and tricks I wish I had known before starting with resin. It covers the type of resin to use for the task at hand, the differences between polyester and epoxy resin and when to use them. I also show the types of tools and other materials I use when creating epoxy resin art. Alongside this I show resin basics that will make life easier for you. All the tools and materials that I use and show here are available on amazon, links below.

Although I often talk about health and safety in my videos, please make sure you do your own research and take the relevant precautions to ensure that you are protecting your health. I am not responsible for anyone using resin and not taking the correct safety precautions. Resin is a chemical and as such should be always treated with respect and the manufacturers safety advice taken.

Hi Steve, another great video, love the art piece at the end. Other things you can use to colour resin are spices......cinnamon, paprika, turmeric are gorgeous and herbs can produce nice effects too. Great point to recycle and reuse plastic food pots 👍👏 . Xx

Hi there, I'm brand new to resin. I have just purchased pretty much everything. I just have not played with it yet. I did see online somebody suggested heating up resin, but they did not say to heat it in the water like you suggested and I think your idea is fantastic! They suggested heating it in the microwave. To me. I think that's very dangerous. I could be wrong, but that's my thoughts on that. Anyway. I just subscribed to your channel and I can't wait to watch more of your videos. Before I dive in and start playing with resin.

I love the craft resin but the 2nd batch I bought mightve been bad..it leaves weird streak lines. Maybe it's because it's a tad colder here but even with a heater on them they come out streaky and bad. Stonecoat is the best I've used but you have to mix well and keep in heat or it wont harden..plus expensive..also doesn't cell well

    Hello Steve!
To get the final casting softer, more flexible, can this be done from the mixing ratio between the two components A and B?
I'm referring to a more rubbery casting, like how those Keychain numbers plates are made. The molding is softer, more silicone, flexible.
A flexibility ratio can be obtained through the mixing ratio, e.g. 3:1, 2:1, 1:1 or in what way the mixture can be made regarding the rigidity or flexibility of the concentration
    Many Thanks in Advance
    Kind Regards
