Hey Kenny, a fellow Malayali here. For some reason I watched this video again today and I happened to go through the comments here. It was disturbingly painful, the harsh words spilled around. Hence thought of dropping a comment to say, we support you, Kenny. It's reaaaaaally unfair to be rude to someone when they try something new. But he is still put his best foot forward and did an incredible job. Comedy is something meant to help you let off some steam. Thank u kenny to help us deal with our lives with much more ease🤗
Best standup comedian in India is a long stretch. Malayalis have a very high standard when its come to comedy and unfortunately this is noway near that. This sounds more like what I used to tell in school in the 90’s.So it’s obvious that it would reflect in the comments. And this is nothing compared to what the likes of Prithviraj and Sreesanth who have accomplished way more things than Kenny.

Hi Kenny , came across this video just now and I enjoyed the show thoroughly. Came to the comments section expecting all kinds of positive messages but the comments took me by complete surprise. The whole point of the video was to entertain us and provide us content that is relatable and he did it. So often we see a platform of standup comedy to malayalee audience and when it happens , people choose to pick out the flaws , completely oblivious to the whole purpose of the video.Making fun of his malayalam is like making fun of someone's accent. Not cool.Besides , it is not even bad. I don't think you'll read this but letting you know , there is a whole other set of audience hoping you to make more videos like this in the future. Loved it.
I think most mallus are commenting about his low standard of comedy rather than his Malayalam. You know what Malayalis expect when it comes to comedy and this is noway near that.
Eh Kavya you know Kenny is a reputed comedian.Pls dont make fun of him.You too would sound the same if you were in his place. He is not a native keralite.Just know the facts before commenting.I like the fact that His comedy does not offend anyone.
Being a malayali I was searching for stand up comedies with subtitles. But I am so glad that you have spoken malayalam throughout the video. Love from Kerala 🤍🤍
I'm in Kerala now (was in Chennai before) and I couldn't stop but love the observations you've made. Grandmother, uncle, alcohol, levels of respect and the mundu. Phew that's some amazing work. Being a non resident Keralite, I don't think I could have pulled a 10 minute conversation, let alone a stand up. Hats off Kenny - wonderful work
Mallu uncle thing is on point! And that's exactly how we respond to them too- aah, sheri, aano, pinne, vere, oh athu sheri. It's a whole independent language 🤣🤣
I can literally empathize with Kenny . I am Delhi born mallu myself and get ridiculed for my Malayalam diction too 😂😂but in the last few years I have improved it quite a bit , learned to read the language as well as a challenge . I still fumble and make mistakes when I speak to my malayali friends but don't get bothered that often now. After all it's the effort that matters , we fall to pick ourselves up .

God, I laughed so much at that line that I had to pause the video so that I won't miss the rest while I laugh. Kudos to you, brother. I don't know why anyone would find this insulting in any way. You are one of the best comics in India. Today I was talking to my best friend who has watched your videos, but he didn't know that you have a Malayali background. I told him proudly "Bro, he's a Malayali!". Love your videos, man. I'm a huge fan of comedy and I enjoy a wide range of genres. Hi Kenny! My husband and I just watched your Netflix special and loved it! We live outside of DC, I’m Malayali, he’s Lebanese, so we both appreciated the shoutouts to Kerala, shawarma and farts. Anyway, I just want to say as a US-born Malayali with old-school parents who were constantly frustrated because I don’t have a perfect grasp of their mother tongue, I empathize with you. The main reason why I didn’t make the effort to get any better is because my relatives would constantly make fun of my American accent or mispronunciation of words. If I ever tried to mock their attempts at English when they immigrated to the US, I would be demonized in a heartbeat! But when I complain about being mocked, it’s because I’m a spoiled western brat? 🤷🏽♀️ Oh well. Much love to you and I appreciate your effort and your stand-up style. If you think calling both your husband and brother "chetta" is weird, then what about calling a newborn human and a romantic partner "Baby".
Baby is also a name. So not at all weird.
Baby also being a name makes it even weirder !
So true
But the word 'baby' doesn't denote any family relation, in the way that 'chetta' does for brother, that's why it's damn weird lol
@@nine-vi7rw then how about calling a priest father, nun mother and nurse sister?

Comments vaayichappol otiri sagadam tooni..He is one of best stand up comedians of India. He doesn't have to try so hard to deliver something that is completely out of his comfort zone. But he is still put his best foot forward and did an incredible job. Comedy is something meant to help you let off some steam. Thank u kenny to help us deal with our lives with much more ease🤗
All are fun
Best standup comedian in India is a long stretch. Malayalis have a very high standard when its come to comedy and unfortunately this is noway near that. This sounds more like what I used to tell in school in the 90’s.So it’s obvious that it would reflect in the comments. And this is nothing compared to what the likes of Prithviraj and Sreesanth who have accomplished way more things than Kenny.
@@tylerdavidson2400. aree don't compare them with Kenny bro. He is a stand-up comedian and Prithviraj is a renowned actor. He is one of the best stand up comedians in India, not an actor, they are sperate.
If he is the best then God help the others. Like Tyler said his jokes are awful and juvenille. He really needs to work on his content. . Comments vayichitt enikku shock aan thoniyath. Ithrayadhikam alukalkk ee kochu pillerude jokes okke engane ishtayeennorthitt.
@@Trollika_Devi. Well different people have different tastes, if many like his jokes and a few like you don't like it, let's be honest the problem is you not others.
The fact you know your malayalam isnt fluent, yet you had the courage to perform in malayalam is just class! To be honest we all get trashed for speaking malayalam with lack of fluency, but its just their way of banter. Love how your cursing was fluent 😅😂
The jokes are awful. He needs to hire better writers

I know that I'm posting this comment too late, but I just had to do it. Man, I'm a Malayali. I loved the jokes. Especially the way you described Malayali Uncles and the three stages of respect. You said "Thankalu", "Ningalu", and then I was expecting that you would say simply "Nee". "Neeyoru parama naariyaada pattee".

Plus, you have an amazing voice! 💜
P.S. we call our drunk Malayali uncles “Drunkles”... feel free to use that in your next bit 😉
