A lot of people forget that when George Younce had his heart attack and had to come off the road for a while, Gerald Wolfe filled in the bass part. Sometimes it was Glen Payne, but Gerald sang bass with The Cathedrals…
love it when glen walks out pushing the dolly then he goes gets his mic & starts singing those low notes while the other guy wonders & looks down at his mic wondering where the low notes were coming from lol
for the record in the late eighties gerald sang bass with the cathedrals while george was recovering from a heart attack so appretnly he's sang all four parts since he's listed as lead singer for better eyesight.......... whooops i mean greater vision
I had this video under my favorites until it disappeared ... I am SO glad it's back up again! Gerald is truly one of my inspirations ... the first song I ever heard him sing was "Land of Living" with the Cathedrals. He is truly a gifted musician. And this video is just another testament to it!
Are you kidding me?! He has such a fantastic range and a great voice to go along with it. He's an amazing song writer, and an even better pianist. In what universe is that NOT impressive?!
Who Remembers any of these, Mark Trammell & Gerald Wolfe Associated with: Kingsmen Quartet The Cathedrals Greater Vision Gold City Mark Trammell Trio & Quartet
Has Legacy Five and Greater Vision ever been in a concert with Gold City & The Kingsmen? That would be an awesome concert if all four acts were to come together for one concert.
don't think it was this group (probably the dumpling valley boys he mentions) but this song played heavily into the movie "W" (tune instrumentally in the beginning and thru out, then a quartet version at the end, if i'm remembering right, was in the theater a couple years ago)
If you can do that and sound as technically perfect as Gerald Wolfe, we all need to hear it. Lots of people can sing all 4 parts but very few could do it that well.
I don't know why Gerald's quartet does not have bass. Quartet is supposed to have four part harmony. It does not matter if it are four voices or four instruments. I saw them lately in a concert in Texas but only three guys sings and Gerald plays the piano. Any idea why his quartet has no bass?
@@gutsikanaimatanhire1636 Once Gerald and Legacy Five were together and Roger Bennett ask him the same. Gerald reponded: we don't need a bass. I think he was joking but he said that.
Since Legacy Five changed all of these guys to a new group with the same name, where are these guys now? The new group has only Scoth ,the bass player, I would like to know where the other guys are.
@@andygraves4479 Thanks for the information. Amazing reason why the bass left. It is a strong reason, most exactly saying: a call from God. It is good to know that they split for a good reason. Thanks again
You're probably the only one on the planet (4 Years ago) who was not impressed with Gerald Wolfe, he is one of the most well known musicians in Southern Gospel Music, and was for many years before this video was made, and STILL is today, in 2016.
Sadly enough Gerald has had some problems with his throat n can't sing anymore so we blame it all on u rdken because u cursed him with it! God really n truly blessed Gerald Wolfe with some amazing talent n now it's gone

gerald sang bass with the cathedrals when george younce got sick in 1988
Is there any doubt that Gerald Wolfe is one of the most gifted musicians in Sogospel history?
One of many!
Not at all
Loved Roger Bennett playing piano!!
Gerald can sing anything and make it sound great.
love it when glen walks out pushing the dolly then he goes gets his mic & starts singing those low notes while the other guy wonders & looks down at his mic wondering where the low notes were coming from lol
Every time I listen to this song the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!!! He is very talented!!!!
I love Gerald Wolfe :-) When the guys started singing, "He's better than you..." I just lost it.
"Take notes". That was too funny
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Didn't know Gerald was a song writer. What songs has he written?
@@blakeedmondson9573 At least "I Know I'm Saved", "Sowing the Seed", "Trusting In The Lord", as well as co-writer on many others.
Gerald Wolfe is awesome musician I love, love, love to hear him play and sing.

Gerald has an amazing range. I have a few of those old Dumplin Valley albums with him singing tenor on them. What an amazing talent.
The Dumpling Valley Boys Gerald Was Incredible And Still Is Today He Doesn’t Need No Help To Prove It Either Really He Could Do It Solo🎶🎤🎶♥️❤️♥️

@BoiseState80991 Yes, Gerald Wolfe use to be the pianoist for the Cathedrals... he is oozing with talent... and usually doesn't even use a book :)
Wonderful group! hehehehehehe Keep it up! great performance.:)
To be a tenor, he really hollered that very last note lol
he isn't a tenor.
JUST FOUND IT: LOVE IT !
Comedy aside, this song has some great harmony. Good listen.
YAY!!!!! I love this video. It's hilarious!

You can tell this group is full of it...you know, the Holy Spirit.
Glen is hilarious

Does someone knows where the tenor of this group is singing now in 2020? I like his tenor voice.
does anyone know of a song. sung by Legacy 5 and the Collingsworth Family heard it once but can't find it again. it was great!
i would search: legacy 5 and collingsworth family singing together
I applause his triumph but I’ve been doing that for 30 years. Unfortunately my 50 year old voice isn’t the same. It takes lots of warm ups.

and, nice Bb4 at the end.
@Meganolia hon, when you play these songs for so long so many times, you can do it blindfolded.
@21605c He has a hymnal entitled "Church Hymnal".
*Here's a thought, how about Rodney?*
Skip to the song? Do it at 3:59
Very Funny!!!!
@militarykilroy Yes it is; I can't sing high anymore, but the bass can be quite hard.
Gerald had a D2 at 6:43. wonder if he could fry the Bb1.
tix3 I think he could do it now in regular full voice
@charlottecopeland The video or the song...
cause both would be Hilarious!! XD
Glenn showed him
3:58 song starts
When was this tapped

in a clip where Greater vision(1992) sung an accapella version of "O daniel prayed" Gerald said they don't want one. perhaps he was joking kkkkk
