I,too, am drawn to the drums and singing. Something deep inside stirs. As if I have roots in this culture. I have always been told I have a great grandparent who was Cherokee and have yet to confirm. I sense it!

My ignorance of the history, structure, meaning and place of the drum in indigenous communities is vast. There is something in me that's drawn to its sounds and rhythms, despite my lack of indigenous heritage, that I can't explain. 🙂 I really like this video for its vitality, how it shows so many young people so obviously dedicated to learning and perpetuating the presence of the drum in their cultures. The little girl is just too adorable. And all the high notes were like lightning bolts of energy. I don't know what "ribbon town" means, but I hope it's a good thing.
