Jordan I'm from the Dine aka Navajo Nation and I love your videos. Theres some places I haven't seen and now I know where to visit. Love the way Windslow has renamed their street and its become good for tourist. Last time we went it was quiet all around. Twin Arrows has a casino now on the otherside of the freeway. And no the Navajo People do not make or get paid any of the casino money. My dad loved traveling every weekend and the stories he would tell especially meeting Dennis Hopper when he was in University.
We have a roadside small church in our state of Washington. It only fits about 6 or 8 people, and a friend of mine got married there. On the outside of it it says pause, Rest, Worship.
Great job, guys. Thanks for showing us the meteor crater … something I’ve really wanted to see but not a place I could ever get to in my lifetime. Awesome! Thank you both.
Hi Jordan & Scott! Ive been enjoying the Route 66 videos so much, Ill hate seeing them come to the end. I hope the two of you will think of another adventure to take together down the road, its been a blast!!! I have always wanted to see the creator, Im sure my tiny phone screen doesn't bring it justice! Winslow, Arizona was pretty cool! 🎶 Thanks, guys 👍👍 Papaw 🙏
Aw, I wanna go back so bad... we went on our Southwest Road trip in March..love the videos... you get a discount if u buy your meteorite tickets on-line . We had such a good time. Spent over 2 hrs there
Hey Jordan & Scott. When I started in the trucking industry in 1990. Most of these roadside businesses were open. And had semi truck parking. Because part of I-40 is Route 66. For example, both Arrows were still in great shape, sad to see that one of them is down. HERE IT IS sign was still in great shape. A little weather beaten today. But that was over 33 years ago. Very sad to see some of these businesses are now closed & falling apart.
We know the freeway killed americana but when people got to much comfort in their vehicles they quit stopping to shop, and stretch That hurt most business. People dont shop the way they use to as well. They would buy gifts for the neighbors getting the mail or the kid walking their dog and of course the ladies in the office . I noticed that change in the 90s The final nail in the coffin was the co/v shutdown. These businesses were barely hanging on before the shutdown and the cost on a building closed down for a year and a half is much more than people think. Anything from vandalism to wind and weather damage then of course the heat in many places will dry rot everything from the wood trim, shelves, doors and flooring. Then to clean and restock is more than the place is worth. Loved those places as well as the ones from Tucson az to west Yellowstone Montana are cool as well. Don't forget the last great sister towns...cave creek and carefree az. The old mining town of cave creek is the .touristy/ cowboy/drinking town. Then carefree is a planned community. The ideas were thought up while drinking at Harold's (still in cave creek) when the great founding fathers were "half in the bag" at the bar. With street names like easy street (great to shop but hell to work on Easy street. The down town buildings started in 1955 and homes the same year. The town had the countrys highest income per capita at 1 time. Mostly because a lot of retired Corp presidents and business owners that went sold monster businesss. We had a small public airport, now private. With airplane hangers attached to the home like a garage. Can you tell I've spent a lot of time out here? My mom was on the city council and I did the art shows, the number 2 ranked fine art shows in the country. The THUNDERBIRT ARTIST shows have been here for over 30 years. I moved out of carefree when i got married and i now slum it in downtown cave creek. The oldest subdivision in cave creek my house started as the Valley Bank building, across the street in frontier town. It was moved to our yard in the mid 70s from what I was told. An old Adobe building that is my mothers bedroom,

My husband and I along with out 2 adult boys, drove that route last week. My husband wanted to see his dad for fathers day so we drove from cave creek az to Milwaukee wi for Father's day. Then back again. We were in a hurry so not to many stops. I grew up in a family business of the tourist trap variety, from 1975 to 2000. Mescalero trading post was our az name and the warbonnet trading post in Montana We had a shop in carefree az (north of Scottsdale) as well as 1 in Scottsdale for a little while. Then a summer business in west Yellowstone Montana (west entrance to Yellowstone park. A store in Bozeman for a short time and 1 in Jackson hole wy area for 1 year then sold it.

GREAT VIDEO!!! BUT…BUT…BUT JORDAN,…How can you not be an Eagles fan?….. maybe that’s left for us folks over 50.
Sad to see so many places out of business. Economy is really bad for small businesses.

None of those rocks are from the park. They get it off their own private property.
Wow. That's cool they have that big display for an Eagles song there.
