I also bought this a few years ago and I'm having issues with certain keys typing other unwanted letters. Ironically, it's just the "s" "e" "x" keys...shows up like "js" "ei" and "mx". Super annoying.
E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T R-E-V-I-E-W!!! I loved the part about parents buying this so they'll know their kids are playing past bedtime 🤣😂🤣😂 I just received my Aula F2088 yesterday and found the little instruction booklet lacking and, therefore, went surfing for help. I LOVE THE INTERNET 😁 I'm not a gamer; I purchased this keyboard for the retro look/sounds. I can see myself using the lights when I'm in thinking mode 😉 Have a great day! 😎
I have this exact keyboard. The only difference is that his has round buttons while mine is not. The keyboard is not hot swappable, switches are soldered to the PCB. After a month or two, buttons start to fail. Common problems I encounter include double character when striking a button, moving the cursor with the arrow keys is oddly slow when Windows is not running like in the BIOS, button works erratically. Replacing the switches is easy if you know how to solder. The problem is, the PCB itself is really low quality. When you heat the lead on the switch then remove the lead or the solder with a desoldering tool, the gold coating around the hole breaks. They use low quality PCB board. Good quality PCB isn't like this.
I just came across one of these keyboards 2nd hand, in silver, with black linear switches in it. The switches seem fine. I'm new to mechanical keyboards, so I can't really compare. I definitely haven't tried it out much yet (and won't until I get some keycaps to replace the 'typewriter' style caps it came with), but I immediately second what you've talked about here. The keys feel loose, but work fine - the space bar feels like it's about to fall off, and the whole keyboard slides around a lot. Looks like it's going for about $40 on Amazon right now. It's *fine*, I guess, but I definitely don't feel it's worth $40 in this configuration, with these keycaps, and so on, and I would have been pretty disappointed had I paid full price.
Oh, also, don't remember if you mentioned it -- it isn't wireless, and that's fine I guess, but it also has a built-in cable, which is definitely disappointing at this point.
Hi! Thanks for the view and comments. Yeah the AULA F2088 is definitely an introductory KB. If you decide to go down the rabbit hole of mechanical keyboards, not necessarily build your own but just research and stuff, check out Ducky and Das Keyboard. I have a Ducky One 2 RGB model and it has to be one of the best typing experiences I've had. I intend to do a review on it in the coming months. The cable is detachable, it has rgb, and you can get a variety of switch options. The switches are not hot-swappable, but they are on their One 3 model. Oh and it doesn't come with a wrist rest, so you'd have to buy that separate, but definitely check out their site. These are good. www.duckychannel.com.tw/en/Keyboards
@@MiddleofKnowhere oh. Thanks. Was looking for a full size per key backlit mechanical blue switch keyboard. Top priority was Redragon k580 vata. But it's not available in any of the showrooms of my country.
@@MiddleofKnowhereDamn! This is the downside for me. I'm searching on how to set my newly bought f2088's light to one color only until I've read your reply. Not really a fan of RGB/Rainbow but I have to be used on this one.

Probably the most detailed review I've ever seen on the internet. Well done. Thank you for making this.
this is the best review ive ever seen
had this one during pandemic, after few weeks of using, ghosting is real.. i ask for a replacement but they refuse..
Do you mean random characters would start showing up even though you hadn't pushed the key? Yeah, my big concern with this is definitely longevity.

Pour a alcohol on the switch and tap ot until it dries worth a shot
2:35: Wow I did not realize this keyboard came with a whole door mat for FREE
The door shipped a month later. :D
Great review. I wish all reviews with this thorough and useful. Great Job.

great review, thanks!
Amazon says the knob controls volume but im having issues with that. Is it a volume knob or just a light dimmer/knob?
you have to hold the center button down until the lighting knob in the knob turns off
IS this a good keyboard? its been a year since your review
My son still uses it near daily for his homework and gaming (Ready or Not, Destiny 2, etc.). He likes it.
Does it not have per key lighting?
IIRC it's rainbow permanently. no per key but you can change patterns.

Mine has white light which is better than rainbow in my opinion
Hii guys .. is aula 2088 can set ambient awareness like razer also or not eh ? Anybody who used this
I would say that this review would be good and the best, but it doesn’t have a sound test
Are you talking about what it sounds like when typing on it? Watch around the 4:41 mark.
Should i take this or asus tuf k3 suggest
Do the spacebar has metal bracket..please tell.
