idk if you know are aware of that, but there is phoebe bridgers cameo here. she was backup and featured vocals on some of their stuff from their notes (2020) album. matty and phoebe even performed live together. "looking for somebody (to love)" is definitely something you should check out from the same album, especially live performance. also yeah, they are a pop band, it's just a reference to a joke in a music video. some early fans were criticizing for going more comercial when they got signed and they menitoned it in girls video, which is supposed be satirical.
I’m a really big fan of the 1975, and my particular favorite songs are the ones when matty (lead singer) puts a lot of emotion into the vocals. Particularly my favorites are Robbers, Couldn’t be more in love, The ballad of me and my brain, and Sex. I’m really curious on what your opinion on these songs would be.
This music video is basically a part 2 to the song/music video from "A Change of Heart" from their 2nd album. You should watch that next and it will make sense.
This album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language, is really a funny one and IMO their best. This song references ‘Change of Heart’ You can try ‘Robbers’ as well which is a prequel to ‘About You’ ‘Happiness’ and ‘Girls’ which are more on the funky side then also ‘Sincerity is Scary’ and ‘People’ which really show how they approach really different genres
The story in the video reminds me of "Don't fall in love with that moment and think you're in love with that girl" from their song She's American. If you like the Jack Antonoff production you should listen to their last album it's entirely co-produced by him. And now that you have seen this video you should react to the Change of Heart video (this video is a sequel of that).
love your the 1975 reactions

You should do a change of heart next, it references a few songs in the past tense and how his feelings have changed, it’s one of my favourite
