Here’s a tip I used when doing drawing rotation. Mark your centre of rotation as usual, but draw a small arrow up (North). Then rotate your tracing paper whatever degrees, e.g. 90 degrees. (You’ll know you have the right direction if the small arrow now points to the right (East)). It’s subtle but helps heavily for questions with multiple transformations

If you wanna rotate it 90 degrees clockwise do (x,y) --> ( y, -x) 90 degrees anticlockwise: (x,y) ---> (-y,x) 180 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise: ( x,y) --> (-x,-y)
I can’t use tracing paper for my exams! If you need help with this, draw a faint pencil line from the centre of rotation to any point of the given shape (label the point w a letter so u don’t get confused). If it says rotate clockwise 90 degrees for example, turn that PENCIL LINE 90 degrees clockwise. Wherever the point ends up is the new point. I hope this helps a tiny bit

Absolutely! Topics don’t change between exam boards, maths is maths, the papers just look a bit different and questions are presented and worded differently between the different boards 😁🙏🏼
If you are talking about an exam setting, every student is entitled to tracing paper that should be provided at the start of the exam, if not, you ask for it 😁🙏🏼
Tracing paper is part of the equipment that you are entitled to in a GCSE exam, you simply have to ask for it! If you ask your teachers they are allowed to ask the invigilators to put tracing paper on every exam desk 😁🙏🏽

Is there not a good way to find the centre of rotation? I was 1 mark off 100% on a test because I didn't know how to find it.

I very much doubt they won't give it to you, it's almost impossible to do some rotations without tracing paper
