Love this channel, keep on doing the good work! love your work and experience to be in Colombia, hopefully I can get a chance to visit or even stay there!
We only spent about 5 weeks last year, but we had a great tour and saw a lot of this wonderful country. We will come back and visit different destinations, there are so many opportunities to spend interesting hours and experiences. Hope to see you soon.
Air travel to Colombia is in hard currency and is expensive. So "booking" a trip won't be cheap. Once you're IN Colombia, sure, your currency will go a long way. If you're on a budget, the biggest expense of your trip might actually be air.
In a big city like Bogota, people are in general not as conservative as in other areas, therefore I do not see any issue. Also traveling in Colombia, all my Colombian friends from the community explained me that there is no issue. There is a big LGBTQ community in the neighborhood of Chapinero, you also find the biggest gay club there, called Theatron. Is is huge and big fun. You might look for an accommodation over there to find likeminded. To me there is not the right time to visit Colombia. It really depends on the regions you are going to visit. There is rain and dry season. But in the Andean mountains, it can hail, rain, be dry or the sun can burn down like hell. Also check my following blog, it contains some valuable info. www.pelecanus.com.co/colombia-travel-blog/tips-tricks-for-traveling-to-colombia-1/ cheers frank
@@COLOMBIAFRANK the mayor of Bogota, Claudia Lopez has been advocating for years to implement unemployment benefits and food programs for the Colombian people similar to those programs in the USA. The position of mayor of Bogotá in some ways is equal to or greater than the president of Colombia. Bogotá is essentially run as a city state. Claudia Lopez feels that by shutting down all international flights, the 1% ruling class will buckle and agree to her reforms. This ruling class will not buckle and instead wants to continue with the peonage system that has been a part of Colombia since the days of the Conquistadors.
Too many gringos are going to Colombia. Furthermore, it's polluted, food sucks, weather sucks(rains daily)altitude sickness is real. The system there is bad. All in all its not a place to go but if you must, understand that if you're a man they will view you as a sex tourist. On the bright side, people are for the most part good. Colombia is wayyyy over rated.

Flight could have been also very cheap in Colombia. Lets see how the prices will be after reopening.
Where would it be safe for an LGBTQ Traveler to stay in Bogota and what's the best time of year to travel to Colombia ?
