Great vid! I had conversations with people about how this worked based on the spoilers and it was definitely a bit confusing, this clears things up nicely! For the pronunciation if you're interested - Atelier comes from the French - its pronounced like "ah tell ee yay" (phonetics are not easy to convey in text though!)

I think I will collect a bunch of tradable ones before experimenting with them. They could change some features by the time I have enough gems for that. After all, they altered the Wheel a few weeks after it was introduced, so it is not out of the question.
i got one question.. in the lower left i have a lesser gem with fire resistance +2%. what happens if i switch domain on it? if i put it to the upper left, i can use it as fire protection? the lower left it has the fire shield icon for fire resistance. can i unlock another lesser gem with 2% fire resistance in another domain at the same time? and another question. in every domain, do you need to use exactly one lesser gem, one regular gem and one greater gem?

Well, kind of. As a level 300 you will definitely still want to pick up one or two lesser/regular gems for the flat dmg increased, even if you don't care about the other mods. Shouldn't be very expensive :)
What server are you on? I am a level 228 Elite Knight, and I am looking for a hunting partner. If we work together, maybe we can make some money out of Giant Spiders or something slightly stronger. I don't like taking great risks because I died twice in the last few months.
Not 100% sure. I'd say it's going to be a decent gold sink. It's definitely something everyone will want to engage in some degree, every high level player will probably want at least 2-3 solid Greater Gems. I'd guess as a serious player you should expect to invest 100kk~ into the Gem Atelier to get what you need. Then you will probably not touch it much going forward. Whether that's a significant enough gold sink to affect the economy remains to be seen.

Yep, true, that's possible, but I think for this reason they will be very careful with it to not piss off too many players. We'll see!
