I am kinda mad. I drove to drop off several bags of clothes, including warm coats, jackets, 20+ pants, shirts, etc and was turned away from 3 sites. Even though it was online the Rose Bowl was going to be accepting donations until Sunday turns out it was not. I was sent to PCC and there was nothing. No signage, no indication of any donation drop. I decided to go to Santa Anita because it was well reported as an open donation and volunteer center. I was turned away from there as well. I am happy that enough donations were received to help all the people who needed help, but if these places are going to work with the media then they need to make sure the right information is put out there, so people planning to donate know what to do and where not to go. I ended up leaving my bags outside a nearby church hoping they would find people who could use the clothes. It was only when I got home that I found out there were open homes in Altadena where I could have left my donation. I was right there in the area and could have dropped the bags off in a home where people in the city could easily walk over and find something they might need. If this option had been made known via media then I would not have had to drive to all these places only to be turned away. The coordination here was poor and misleading.
Exaclty! Let the man sign a waiver and be done with it. If the only concern is re his safety and health it's his home and his decision. We do not need to be adding any more stress to anyone's life!
Once the property has been cleaned up the city/county should provide low cost temporary housing trailers and allow people to live on their property while they wait for rebuilding. Everyone won’t be able to rebuild at the same time so at least people wouldn’t have to vie for a place to live while they’re deciding on next steps.
The cops should assume if a man is driving in the zone that his home has survived and that he's not someone looking for burnt up destroyed junk. They always have to assume every person they come across is doing something wrong, when it's the police getting caught stealing from people Thats why i cant stand the police.

The lack of flexibility from authorities is mind blowing. He should simply be given permission to come and go, some kind of document. So simple.
