    Thank you so much.
The Music Mixer of this song and the all songs in the EP Old Enough is Serge Courtouis. A Grammy award-winner Sound Engineer. As well as he graduated from Berklee College of Music with second major in 'Drum Set Performance'.
The Background Vocalist is Academy Award-nominated Taura Stinson. She also is the co-writer of 'Good in Goodbyes' collabarately with Angelina.

Definitely the mixolydian blues scale. Note that it's not only the IV chord, but also IVm7! at times. The whole step below the tonic is also very distinctive.

When it comes to either hate or praise, you need to hold it against your own frame of reference. We tend to overvalue the criticism sometimes forgetting the silent majority. 'Take me or leave, cuz I am me, unapologetically' is in apt quote from this song it seems!
I really love the upbeat positive vibe and message of this song. It made me smile instantly, a lot of good good energy ❤

I get something out of all of your videos (mostly of Angelina), whether it be reflective philosophy, music structure, or working on your car. Sometimes you are a bit down on yourself or appear to be carrying a heavy weight on your shoulders. In this video you looked to be very much in your element, analyzing music, and having a blast doing it. Perhaps the happiest that I have seen you! I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

Ellis, normally it has been only her, but in this one Taura Stintson helped with back vocals. Taura Stintson and Jon Levine, with Angelina put this one together.

    • @PITA-kd2jn

Definitely mostly the Jordanettes, though. I hear a lot of Angelina and a little of something else (Taura), but am out traveling and my good speakers/headphones are on another continent. 😊 No doubt «You don’t wanna miss it» and «a little bit louder, louder» and «higher, higher» is Angelina, while «It’s our time»/«down in the soul» sounds layered with several voices and some «do-woops» do NOT sound like her. So about 80 % Angelina in the background, I’d estimate.

Not sure if it was just part of the editing, or if you had to clip stuff to avoid copyright. Just a little harder to follow along and enjoy the song. That was fun, Ellis! Agree about the modern synth base. Backing voices are about 80 % Jordanettes, but co-writer Taura Stinson is also in the mix. And the 12 bar blues scheme, with all its variations, will never die. 😊 Love this!

To everyone who doesn't know Angelina yet, listen to Angelina's masterpiece in the original, this mutilated version is a horror, for whatever reason. If you hadn't realized, when Ellis geeks out on the theory, he likes the song. He is reacting in his way. It obviously got his creative juices flowing. And the fact that what seems like a feel-good bop has so many layers is a testimony to the song writers.
