probably used hexadecimal since it would have been a lot easier. Each cpu instruction is represented as an opcode, a value of bits that tell the computer what to do if you know the hexadecimal value of each opcode it's not much different to writing in assembler as each assembler mnemonic is just a human readable representation of an opcode or string of opcodes.
Yeah, these days you can just drag a load of default assets for some game engine onto your screen, finish off in about 10 mins and sell it as a 'funny simulator parody' on steam..
Luis Fernando has it right, the Assembler was used to save memory because instead of using the pre-defined Spectrum commands (print, plot etc) it used commands as simple as sending a number between different variables and the like - each taking up no more than two bytes. Creating a program's code by manually using the Assembler commands was called "hand-assembling" or "hand-writing." Also, typing in all the binary (hexadecimal numbers weren't used back then, computers hadn't reached that mark yet) would take an immense amount of time and the debugging would probably take years.

I want a modern game where you play as an ant, in either first or third-person. Imagine exploring and helping to build an intricate ant hive deep within a rain forest. Fighting off foes, protecting the queen, raising the young. All of this using the Frostbite engine. Meaningful choices, branching story lines, multiple endings, dynamic ant allies.
There is a SNES game called SimAnt similar to the concept that you're describing, that could be worth checking out. Not sure if there's anything more modern.
Oh, I know those. My cousin found it out on the PC version. Later on the PlayStation version(which some people don't like it), it's unlock after getting the General rank in the Campaign mode.

This was indeed quite a great little gem , i fondly remember failing a couple of exams thanx to this one among a few other brilliant Spectrum titles . Another one that i fully embraced was Doomdark's Revenge , a marvel of memory management , with its sheer endless world full of danger . Spectrum Games were special .
The creepiest thing about this game was the hole in the back of the amphitheatre near the entrance. To get up into the hole, you had to stun two ants in a row, make the girlie climb on top of them, then use the ants and her as steps. Once inside the hole, you drop into the hidden depths of the amphitheatre and there is no way out, just a few paces one way, then a few back until you die and your girlie gets executed by ant bites while she waits for you outside. Thanks for the nightmares, Sandy White.

I was very young then memorized by the technological limitations of the time, crammed into "a [visual-arcade] game" I specifically remember my "feel" and observations of depth by Isometry and the "lag" by experience of "manoeuvring" the ship. Oh my "we" have come a long way since, haven't we? AntAttack, remember not so much but the ants are impressive and "underused" as an "asset" [in modern-gaming] I mean just look at their design.

Please Ahoy for the love of God do an iconic arms on the Barrett M107/M82, Scar L and Scar H, Glock 18, P90, Thomson M1A1 (Tommy gun), ACR, and they Cheytac M200 Intervention (SSG 61 in BF4 I believe) I know it's not very iconic and it has a bigger role in real life combat but it would make a hell of a video.
What? When I was a kid I had an idea for a game named ANT ATTACK😂 I don't remember if the gameplay in mind was the same as this Ant Attack, but still very funny that someone already had the idea and made it reality and I just found about it about 10-12 years later than I had the idea😄

I find it kinda odd that even though this is to consolidate old videos, that you didn't just compile it them into one video if the other 5 are the same length, just considering the slightly lower quality. It might also be worth adding an unmissable introduction, not everyone is gonna read descriptions or watch from annotation friendly devices.

The scariest ant game I've ever played is Earth Defense Force. I've finished the campaign and those ants still give me the heeby jeebies.
