Hi Nic… nice video again, I’m a frequent viewer and also a fellow reseller…
With regards to shipping I find using a QR code and letting whichever company you use print the labels is best… no cost, auto updated tracking etc… I would only suggest a label printer if you’re shipping more than 50 plus packages a week…
Keep up the great videos 👍

Really useful video Nic, always look forward to yours. My number one essential is storage space. No problem with brown tape here, but I'm sure there are good and bad ones. Regarding weighing scales I use a dog weighing scales for large items - bought for a few quid in a charity shop. A tape measure is an essential for checking box sizes. I'd love a label printer but can't really justify, or find space for one at present so I print labels on a laser printer on A4 paper then fold it and put it on with a tape dispenser, yes takes slightly longer but works for me.

I've had my Munbyn printer for about a year or so now and absolutely love it. Never have any issues with it. With the money saved printing my labels through royal mail's click and drop compared to buying postage at the counter, it basically paid for itself in a few months.
I order free thermal 6x4 labels from UPS (just had 12 rolls with 500 labels on each delivered the other day), so that's another bonus freebie to look out for

I'm not a reseller but do sell a fair bit on eBay and often post stuff out, returns, etc.
I have the exact same label printer - but with the labels on a round roll type reel that sits in a cradle directly behind it. Pretty decent device and it wasn't hugely expensive. I believe all in for the device, the cradle and 500 labels on a reel I paid around £150 ish.
I have it wired via USB to my PC, I have heard it doesn't work with Mac/iOS but there are workarounds but can't say i've tried them.

Shipping Supplies & Label Printers: I get all my bubble, foam and air pillows from where my wife worked. Get a lot of my smaller boxes as well. The guy who runs the Receiving Dept keeps it for us, as he unpacks the volume of commercial goods the company receives. We just drive into town every few weeks to collect it by the vehicle load.
I use a Rollo Label printer and can attest to it being difficult to set up for printing eBay labels (new, right out of the box) with my older Mac Book Pro laptops. Had to call Rollo and have their customer service rep find me a suitable downloadable Print Driver and show me how to add a custom label to the list. The set up info packed with it failed to work. The old Macs lacked a 4x6” choice. having old weird sizes and size formats in their stock choice list. It’s fine now, but the initial set up was frustrating.

@@ianbullock5621 yeah with royal mail I do a screen shot of their qr code and then write the last 3 numbers of the code that's under the qr code on the parcel.
With evri you also get a number under the qr code which you can punch in manually on their machines to get your label. Write that number on your parcel to avoid mistakes

Since everyone joined the rip-off Britain bandwagon the brown tape hardly sticks at all now and there's even less on the roll. Also I bought some fragile tape recently and the 'Fragile' words were printed in massive letters and spaced further apart so they hope we will run out quicker and have to buy more of them lol.

I think that I bought something off you. The Royal Mail informed the police, who called the bomb squad to examine it.…
That’s what happens when you label a parcel F-R-A-G 💥😂💥

In my experience it's a false economy to buy cheap packing tape, brown or clear.

This is great video. A few points.
3" tape not 2" tape, or whatever british measurements you people use. :)
Absolutely use a label printer. Label printers don't transpose numbers. Label printers don't have messy handwriting. Label printers have a dozen OTHER uses for labeling things, not just printing shipping labels. Everyone I've ever talked to who resells, myself included, has the same story as Nic, "I resisted getting a label printer for way too long." etc etc. The MUNBYN is probably a fine product, it looks exactly like a Rollo, but no, in my experience they are a terrible company that doesn't support their products.
Void Fill. I used rolls of butcher paper bought from restaurant suppliers. In the US we have a company called "Smart and Final" that sells huge rolls, and I just find that the butcher paper is much better than the "news print" style rolls, because they are firmer, and don't require you to use anywhere near as much, and provide better drop protection.
