The basements are original as well as and some parts (but as you can see a lot were walls and remains of towers) have been included in the late 19th century restoration. It became fashionable in the late 19th century, when the neo-gothic, neo-renaissance and neo-baroque architecture styles became fashionable, to restore castles. There are a few of these "restored" ones in Europe from the later 19th century: "the Romantic Age". Some of the most famous "neo-style restorations" or better "neo-style overhauls" are: Castle Neuschwannstein (Bavaria), Castle Hohenzollern (Swabia). They are often called "The Disney Castles".
went there today, very impressive
Awesome video! Good job.
I grew up nearby there.

Cypers destroyed many old buildings in the Netherlands. Jos Kok
Dus het is helemaal geen oud kasteel gewoon 100 jaar oud, ik heb melkpakken in mijn koelkast die ouder zijn.
It is not a real castle, it is built op the ruins of an old castle. Maybe you can call it net. I would call it fake!!
Het is deels toch een reconstructie. Kijk maar op oude afbeelding toen het kasteel nog geen ruïne was.
