I have an idea, 3 bonus stars
First bonus star is always the minigame star
Second bonus star is random among spending star, coin star, or happening star (or any other bonus star from MP6 I might be forgetting), but it won't tell you which
Final bonus star is random among all of the other potential bonus stars, but this is announced by toad at the beginning of each map and can always be seen in the info or something

I think it's mostly to raise the stakes/make it more interesting. If there's a chance of losing a good chunk of stars, it raises the tension of chance time
