Hey George I was just wondering can you speak Swiss? The fence looks awesome. It was nice to hear your wife now we need to see her on the chanel.A fan from Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦.
Fine looking fence and gate. The red color does look good against the green landscape and the blue and white sky.
Great work. Thanks for the video. All the best 🇬🇧.
Great to see your wife and mother on here. Happy mother's this Sunday
Beautiful work. The old timers would be so proud. That is a lost art.
Love to have mom running things. Please do more, mom. P.S. love listening to the whole family.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY Mrs G. Beautiful fence job
Great job mom and wife. I love the end when your Swiss relatives spoke. Love that accent. Great work guys.
Preacious Family memories being made, you will cherish these40 years from now!!
I Believe Mom likes a RED gate 😊 Congratulations to you and your family Help
Beautiful farm & welcome family. George is just a Rock Star.
So nice to see your Swiss relatives and Mom Gierok. Love your voice. Reminds me of my moms a little. My mom and dad were married for 66 years and they always had fun together and she also always got to help my dad with his tiny farm. Once when they were trying to load pigs for market, she got her ring crunched and it had to be cut off. Pigs can be very hard to move past where an electric fence once stood and they balked hard. We also had a cow or two that always got out when my dad was at work. A farmer's wife is a top asset for a farm. Hope you finally get your cow brush/scratcher some day. Take care everyone and thank you for the video.
My folks bought a farm when I was 5 yrs old...
When I was 6 & my brother 8 , we were given the job of refencing the farm...
We had to cut the locust posts by hand, dig the holes by hand, and tamp em in by hand...
My dad chk'd every post...
If it was mildly loose , he pulled it outta the ground & made us redo it...
And not one T-post was bought...
It took us 3 summers to finish the fencing ..
I was glad when school started in the fall...
Mrs. G is the BOSS, Mr. G said as much! Great video and excellent camera work! Happy Mother's Day this weekend! 👍👍
Nice to have the help and a new narrator!
so nice to see Mum G out making sure its all done right and some of the swiss part of the family there helping , nothing wrong with some wire as a gate when things are hard , we done that , hanging gates is a skill getting it right , really nice hart warming vid
The fencing is very good. A beautiful farm. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you for this episode.
Hey there Mom nice job once again
Bring your corner posts in a foot. Mount the gate on the outside of the posts. Then it will swing completely open plus butt up against the post of the latching end for more strength.
Fun to watch

Great to hear Mrs. Gierok on the channel!!
Great job guys, been following you for years. Hard work pays off
Welcome to the Swiss family, enjoy your staying. Nice to hear the Mrs., great play by play.
Like how from that spot you can see for miles and miles. I live in central PA and we have a spot on top of mountain you can see 5 counties. Moms voice is very nice and clear.
What a view !👍
You guys sure make a good fence nice narrative Mrs love the videos as always
GREAT TO HAVE MOTHER'S VOICE ON VIDEO. NOW FOR A FEW MORE APPEARANCES.
Good to hear from Mrs. Gierok once in awhile. Nice fence with a Swiss twist. I can't help but smile when you get family involved from the "old" country.
good to hear from the boss.
We put up brand new barbed wire fencing when we were kids .
While stretching the wire if they were to snap. Dad told us to stand behind the post that we were hooked to ,and the one of us that was making sure it didn't get hung up on post , rocks etc. to be on the post side of the wire .
Well one a few new wires snapped . Even being behind the post still just barely got me in the neck .
When fixing broken wires in the spring, because of snow drift we have quite a few times older fence would break as we were stretching them .
As usual, great video!
George is right. I love Mrs. Gierocks play by play she was spot on.
Nice job and mom is there to make sure George does it right lol nice to hear from the Swiss connection I think I saw those latches on another channel called Iowa country girl
Your efforts should be rewarded by many years of trouble-free fencing. Nice to see Mrs. Gierok involved on a nice day. Glad I'm not the only one that used a nail apron while building fence...saves a lot of steps having staples, tools, etc. right at hand.
I still have my Dad's nail apron from over 40 years ago. It's in rough condition but it did the job back in the day.
Nice video
Having hills everywhere makes it harder to keep what you want to stay in your fence in and to keep out what you don't want inside your fence out. With a couple of pipe claps (hangers?) you could add to that gate so a calf can't duck under it.
Great video! Really liked it!
I'm surprised old dad wears gloves. He is such tough bad ass. Strong as an ox
you probably won't beleive this but one of my favorite jobs on the farm was building new fence a5nd ga5tes😊
Good Job Mary! George don't you usually turn the upper hinge bolt so it's pointing down? That way livestock can't lift the gate off it's hinges. Otherwise we end up with cows out and have to weld a washer to the upper so it can't come off. Great video from your side of the Mississippi.
Check out the arm at the 10.30 mark; lots of scrapes and scratches.
Never heard where you went on your vacation l bet George was on the move doing something
Hi Momma Gierok. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I was hoping to here a yodel or two
PS, we have seen Mason lately. How’s Owen doing?
Hi George😊
I'm so sorry I missed spelled your last name
Using those wire gates is why you guys are still in business. Now for some real fun, open and close them from horseback.
If I could offer two suggestions. Put the bottom J hook facing up but put the top J hook facing down. I see the top J hook has a nipple to keep the gate from lifting off but it is still a good idea to face it down. My neighbor hung a gate with the J hooks up. A horse lifted the gate off and ripped his chest open on the J hook. Secondly, after hanging the gate, drill a hole through the hinge and gate then put a 1/4 inch bolt in the hinge. This keeps the gate from swinging in the hinge.
Your supposed to install 1 gate pin facing up and 1 down. so the cattle cant raise the gate off the pins.
I would never put barbed wire as the top strand on a fence. Why? Because when I was a little boy about 5 years old, one of our cows jumped over a fence and tore up her utter so bad it was horrible. I have never seen my dad that concerned and upset before that. I would put the electric fence on the top instead.
Oops! The top pin of the gate needs to face down - so the gate cant be lifted off the pins.
