Having worked closely with the extremely rich, I can tell you that most are indeed miserable. In my experience there’s something like a breaking point where money becomes a burden. The way I see it it’s particularly down to people liking you (or sucking up to you) because of your money and partially due to extremely rich people being horrible people to start with. Unless you inherited your money, the only way to become extremely rich is by being a sociopath/psychopath as you have to screw over countless people to get to that point.
