Don’t listen to these comments. Just did it an hour ago. Easy test. The shocks were uncomfortable at times but it’s not pain. And the needles were painless. I only felt one needle of the 10 he put. There less painful then getting blood work. You will be good don’t worry.
I just had it done today. The needle wasn’t that bad. I barely felt it. Only one was painful. And it was when they did whatever they do once the needle goes in. But he said that muscle does that because it “dont like needle in it” 🤷🏾♀️. The electrical probes wasn’t bad either barely felt them also, only on the back of my knee, which uncomfortable. I only had my lower extremities done, but afterwards it trigger my nerves in my arms and hands.
Hi Nina, thank you for your recent comments. Glad that you had a pleasant experience with the lower EMG/NCv. You should feel better quickly with the nerves of the arms & hands. Not to worry. Thank you. NDX testing.
@@shirleyshirley4188 I was able to walk and drive fine. I seen people say that they were in pain afterwards but I’m always in pain honestly so they feelings that I felt I always felt on the regular. I had it done today. It was nothing like I imagined. Not bad at all. A few strong shocks that were uncomfortable for a millisecond and then the needle. I never saw the needle going in my hand arm shoulder and upper back because I was laying on my back. It was merely a quick pinch. Not painful at all!
Hi Kevin, glad that you had a positive experience during the EMG study. Electrical impulses & needle electrodes are never fun, but if you go to the right place , it should be a pleasant experience. Thank you. NDX Testing.
My experience seemed to be that the shocking was the most uncomfortable and with me sweating only made it worse since the bottom receiving diode kept falling off and the one time they shock up by your knee is the most painful one the needle isn’t that bad just kinda stings when you have to flex that Muscle

Ive watched several videos on this test and im telling you this is NOT what they did to me. They took a needle about the lenght of my forearm and stuck it several ways up and down my arm and went thru 1-10. When they got to 10 i was arching off the bed cause i was in so much pain. What did they do? They praised me for not crying though 😅

Hi, Thank you for your recent comments. The video below might help. Thank you. Wish you the very best. Painless nerve conduction study/ EMG test if done correctly. th-cam.com/video/3Rrw3Zz6n9k/w-d-xo.html
I'm doing this test every year because of my spine issues (C2-C3, L4,L5,& S1 with hardwares/fusion) & been a long time chronic pain sufferer because of that. It's always the same - it's extremely painful especially if they're doing it in my spine area. Legs and arms are tolerable though. My tolerance to pain is extreme yet I can't handle this, even if I'm with high dose fentanyl with concotions of different more opioids. 😢
Hi, thank you for your recent comments and concerns. I don’t understand why you would need an EMG every year. A thorough clinical examinations and functional assessments may be conducted to evaluate the impact of the metal hardware on the patient's mobility, strength, and overall spinal health. The following therapies may help. Hydrotherapy, manual therapy, functional training, posture training and many others. Education and guidance about the spine condition, concerning hardware, and strategies can prevent future problems. Thank you, Luis @ ndxtesting.
@@ndxtesting6861 Thanks for your suggestions on therapy that might help me. I'll look it up & ask my doctors which one fits me most. I believe my doctors were monitoring the changes & nerve damage. Sorry I wasn't able to share the whole situation but my screws, 2 sides in my sacral area were broken & snapped & been affecting me on another level of pain I'm not used to (suffering from chronic pain since 2015). 1 of the peek cages also slipped out & compressing my spinal cord again & been affecting functions of both of my legs. I'm also dealing with neuropathy & occasional incontinence. Another surgery can't fix the pains unfortunately & very risky, that's why they've been monitoring me like that. Also my cervical issues still isn't tackled 'cause I backed out from surgery because I'm scared I might not be able to walk again. I opted for a conservative management instead.

Thank you for your recent comments. So sorry that you had a bad experience. Some physicians and technologists lack the empathy and necessary skills to do a painless EMG. Wish you the very best moving forward. Feel free to suggest any video of interest. Thank you, NDX Testing.
Hi Rick, moving the needle around and causing pain to the patient is an indication of lack of experience from the Doctor. Physician needs to have pin point precision of the muscles being tested, and also have a strong clinical diagnosis. Continuing education in the basic components of electrodiagnostic medicine is a must for that doctor. Thank you. NDX Testing.
Hi. Thanks for the video. I am confused about the test. If you have a herniated disc how will this test help or show? The bottom of my foot burns but only after walking a lot. If I haven’t been walking it doesn’t burn. If I take this test and I haven’t been walking does it still work?
Thank you for your recent comments. It can be very difficult to assess the situation without an intake on the individuals medical history. a herniated disc in the back can sometimes cause a burning sensation in the foot. This sensation is often due to nerve compression or irritation caused by the herniated disc affecting the nerves that travel down the leg and into the foot. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment. In the end the EMG can reveal a lumbar radiculopathy affecting the lower back associated with a peripheral or mono neuropathy in the distal extremities. Thank you and wish you the very best. NDX Testing.
