Sanyo was a pioneer in Japanese tech expansion worldwide. In Argentina, where I come from, they were even sponsoring football teams, a bold marketing move in South America.
    Great vid.

Thank you mate! Yeah, I've seen that in an old football forum, while digging up info about Sanyo. They actually sponsored one of the biggest football teams in Argentina, River Plate. Pretty cool

I always love the deep dive. I'm quite sure the story of 1980's economics could be told almost entirely by consumer products. Very insightful. Thank you!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. And yeah, 100% you can go over modern history soley based on consumer products. Cheers!

Thanks for the info, i too have one of these and couldn't remember when i bought it, My assumption i used it for a Sony walkman. Doubt i have used it in 30yrs but needing a simple speaker for a circuit python test. i dug it out and was very much please to find it working both passive and amplifed.

Just bought one of these in red from eBay.
Not working, as the battery terminals are corroded, but I knew how to fix that, thanks to TH-cam.
