I will agree that they can be really aesthetically pleasing. I personally can’t do that bc it would interrupt my focus with reading and I want to just absorb the story. The only time I’ve been able to do that is with books for school bc at that point I gotta mark stuff in order to remember what I thought was important for the assignment
For the second tiktok, you could put just about any Colleen Hoover book in this because in her books the women characters are always mistreated, ALWAYS. I feel like she has severe internalized misogyny. Every woman character's personality is just their trauma or suffering. They have no real personality and it kills me how the women are represented. The character development sucks, she normalizes (if not romanticizes) the mistreatment of these girls, she gives them no real personality. I think it's harmful for anyone that reads her books because they might feel like it's normal to be heavily mistreated or treated like an object. A big example is her book November 9th, where the main character is a burn victim who meets a man who has a fucking fetish for burn scars. It would've been a whole other thing if it was the man trying to get the girl to love her scars and not feel so insecure, but it wasn't. Anyone real person in her situation would have felt awful. In other words we could put it like this; you do not need to be sexualized to be loved. I truly hate that that's how that story went when it could've been something with an actually good message.
4:57 To be it depends on how it’s done. The one in the video is awful bc it’s a bad font and too big. I’ve seen it done well to where it doesn’t bother me. I also don’t need to have the first letter of the chapter be bigger. It still works fine if it’s the same size and font as the rest
This compilation has convinced me to start annotating my books but in the neatest (emphasis on neat) way possible. i love the booktok community and the last bit of advice on writing enemies to lovers was 100% agreeable
I did the exact same thing! At first, I did it with a pencil and ruler because I was scared. I still use a ruler but with markers and pens (that match the color of the cover). I don't write neatly but that's because my handwriting is bad, and I stopped caring after the first few times.
Me too. It's either a kindle or audiobooks for me. When I read/listen to a book that I LOVE - then I contemplate buying it. And I have to talk myself into it...
Y'all, I have an unhinged book recommendation for people who can't find new things to read in their comffort zone Read a fanfic for fandom you don't know You can find anything in fanfics, easily, at any time, for free I guarantee that if "I was screaming your name through the radio" wasn't a BSD fic, and the author changed the names, that book could've been a nyt bestseller And if you don't know the fandom and the characters, it'll be like the original to you Trust, I've done it like 5 times now
That wasn't exactly what I thought when I first read fourth wing haha 😅 I skimmed over the capital Z and thought "Oh he's the male lead for sure". It's a pretty fun read, though not my favourite because I couldn't find relationships convincing. Enjoy reading!
I got thinking couldn’t deku become a quirkless underground hero and not be a teacher, because deku can still fight without a quirk, so he could become a underground hero but just quirkless
Annotating books is such a waste of time and just a dumb hobby, It is also funny that people who "annotate" are the same people who can't remember what they "read" 2 months later. It is almost like it is a huge performance from barely literate posers.
@@dallasisgood why are you even so upset that some people enjoy books differently than you? whats wrong with literally just drawing in books? like they're your books, do what you want with them, because they're really no one elses buisness
Book annotations are so aesthetic and they look so pretty but I could never write in my book. I also can't annotate but that's not the point

I think there are these clear sticky note things that you can put on a page and write on without damaging the page if you're interested!

I would only use highlighters in my books to highlight my fave parts of the book. Other than that, annotations aren’t really my thing
Thanks for this, I really needed to start reading again
How do people read and watch stuff at the same time

Hey! Does anyone here have good recommendations for books similar to Powerless by Lauren Roberts?
I’d look up some romantasies but maybe defy the night or once upon a broken heart but read CARAVAL before once upon a broken heart
Reckless?
anybody have some good book recommendations? I’m interested in realistic fiction, spicy❤️🔥 romance/any genre, horror🤷♀️
I really recommend the mindfuck series by S. T. Abby! It’s about a serial killer who falls in love with an fbi agent
