The shield does look like it does some pretty good dmaage numbers, but it’s more time efficient to just do 1 or 2 stomps or a cyclone kick, loop kick, or cross slash.
Funnily enough when Miles’ Workshop was streaming update 3 me and a few others in chat had to tell him he could do this, although he’d already gotten to phase 2 when he noticed
if knight does reappear as a boss in shadow gens I can imagine them making a remix like this, especially considering they made chaos island into a cyberstage ost for the remix
