I can already imagine how much we will laugh when you’ll try to make sarma/mantı/börek etc. I’m also Turkish but live in Holland so I can relate to so many thing you guys are doing/talking about. We always eat Turkish food and I’m glad we do. First of all It’s the best food in the world ;) and besides I think it plays a big role in remembering where you come from. The easier way to peel a tomato would be to soak it in hot water which will make the skin come off more smoothly. Also Armenians have a similar rice dish but instead of orzo we use vermicelli!

We wash our rice like that but boil it with water and strain it . Its really fluffy and separated
It is so much easier to use a rice cooker. And my family is from Africa( but I was born and raised in Germany) so a rice cooker is something like a must have for us
We don't use rice cookers in Turkey. I don't know why but Turkish moms believe that u should cook it in a pan and every little rice piece should be separate from the other one 😂 If it is sticky rice like the east asians do, it means you are not good at cookin rice in Turkey 😅 I guess it is the opposite for the other countries tho. We just use lots of oil 😅
