You should probably put some lube under the throttle tube, there should be no resistance when turning it and it should snap back quickly when you let go, and could probably use some grip glue, those grips slid on a bit too easy you especially don't want the grip spinning on the throttle tube

Those brake pins should not need a hammer to put back on! You should take them back out and pass them on the wire wheel and lube them up a bit because the pads slide on those pins! Cheers dude!

I would put a 1 person saddle on it and change the handle bars for either straight bars or Z-bars with a riser would look really cool. That would transform it into a bobber. I would change the front wheel and put a 21". I would just go more Japanese style with it. And I'm certain that you could sell in a snap, or get loads of amazing comments on it.

Maybe you need to lube the area of the throttle tube so it slips in the housing and one the bar end. The bar looked gummed up a little and that might be causing it to snot snap back all of the way.

Worth checking / measureing if the clutch springs were in spec.
Time to order a correct length front brake hose.

I did tip over my machine today 1983 Suzuki gs550e, center stand foot peg was oily so I lost grip wearing my riding boots and the bike fell to the right as i was on the left. No damage engine guards saved jt but close call

Engaging video as always! The throttle tube must snap back after letting it go. Either the surface of the handlebar is gritty and sticking the throttle tube or the cables need to be lubed, possibly replaced if they are super old. Looking forward to more work on this bike! Would love to own one when I have a garage.

You need to put your mirror on the left side so it doesn’t interfere with your throttle. Brake pins need to be cleaned. They shouldn’t be that hard to remove/install. I’d suggest buy new ones!

I hope no one watches this and think anything you did was right and do it to their own bike, a perfect example of how not to do it. Also that's not even close to a café racer.

@@apaibirides4964 not hating but people could watch this and think that's how it's done. No torque wrench used for the clutch or casing not a good way of doing things. Brake caliper was in a bad state and should have been throughly cleaned and the pistons checked and should have bled the brakes.

To true, the throttle was bad enough, absolutely appalling work on the front brake calliper. Some people shouldn't be aloud spanners😂
