God- damn I missed that show . Hometown perfection .
Unbelievable talent . Rip. Professor 😢
Alex's play was absolutely filthy throughout this song. Awesome!!!
I love this song and Counterparts is one of my favourite Rush albums.
From Counterparts on their albums got heavier and heavier. They went back to their roots. Alex is an amazing guitarist. His versatility and ingenuity are second to none.
Rush always took their music but not themselves seriously.
Best 3-man band. Best any number of man band. Best band...ever.
2112 and natural science from the same concert I believe, mind blowing exponential.
Some Rush adjectives for Rory; authentic, grounded, humble, cohesive, integrated, creative, awesome. Thanks Todd & Rory.
Yup! Three best friends playing music together. They may as well be 12yo and playing in a garage.
What I love about Rush, is there three dudes that are completely unpretentious. Did the coolest nerds you'll ever meet
RIP to Neil as well Rush.😢 BUT!!! You help keep them alive. 😊
Neil has stared that this was one of his favorites to play live. This was after he had studied with Freddy Gruber hence the traditional stick grip.
He occasionally played traditional grip his whole career. Check out Xanadu from the 1981 Exit....Stage Left show, he played traditional near the end of the song (you can see it much more clearly in the Stickhits HD version)
I believe you mean 'stated'.
good pick,,,,🤘🤘🤘
This album officially ended their "synth" era and put the power back in trio. 😊
Another enjoyable reaction, Rory.
If you want to see even more versatility, watch Headlong Flight (live) followed by The Garden (live). Both are from their final album, with the latter being the last song, on that last album. The Garden, live, has me in tears, every single time 🤦🏼♂🤷🏼♂
IMHO, these were the best days of Alex's sound. When he was using PRS guitars.
like Rory they're all about the music everything else does not matter
This was the first tour without an opening act, they called it 'An Evening With Rush'. They planned to release a video of this tour but the audio for most of the show was bad, the usable parts were included in one of the R40 releases. in About 6 weeks after this show Neil's daughter died in a car crash, with his wife being taken by cancer less than a year later.
3 guys who are the best at their craft.
RUSH IS AWESOME!!! SOUNDS LIKE THERE'S 5 BAND MEMBERS AND THEIR ONLY 3 AMAZING MUSICIANS. INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE 🔥 BY EVERYONE!! I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS RORY 💙 AND THANK YOU TODD FOR AWESOME REQUESTS, 😊🩷🤘✌️ THERE REALLY DOWN TO EARTH GUYS.
Finally Counterparts era,,, please, go deeper in this great album
Great reaction!! Loving the live videos!! Keep ‘em coming! Be well and God bless… from Texas!!
The highlight of my year would be a new album and tour by rush. No other band got my attention like they did.
I think you got up to Grace Under Pressure (1984). I had originally thought it was 1982's Signals, but then you knew that first track I sent, Distant Early Warning (although you hadn't seen it live).
So, yes, I very intentionally chose music you hadn't heard yet and stayed exclusively with the live stuff so that you could still review the studio albums in good time (hint, hint).
Did I mention that I saw this one live, in that venue, on that date?
3 Music Nerds?
