- Abraham Laboriel has been one of my influences in bass playing. I really admired his work especially in the Lift Him Up album by Ron Kenoly. I was always interested in learning his bass lines, and of course his style in slap and pop especially when he does his solos.

Greetings JIKYONLY! When I first started playing bass again back in 1992, Abraham Laboriel was the first training video I found and he kind of became my mentor. It was on a VHS tape then. Abraham doesn't slap and pop like you are doing. He snaps with both thumb and fingers. I love watching him do that so much that I now, on occasion, use his thump snap and pop technique when I play. A few bass players ask me about that technique and I always tell that I learned it watching Abraham Laboriel. It's a joy to watch you play these songs that Abraham Laboriel does. My favorite song that I like to play is "God is so Good". Have a blessed day!

Abraham is a bass legend - good choice in role models! Are you familiar with the band Koinonia? If not you can find videos of them playing live on TH-cam, as well as a few albums. Outstanding group of talented musicians who love the Lord, anchored by Abraham. I don't know how he played and jumped around so much without tripping over something on stage, though! :^D

Great song. Your slap is great. Just a humble opinión. I don't think the slap would sit best fir the whole...a few parts in there but mostly finger playing. Overall great slap, great video.
