after this game i wouldn’t be able to lift my head high enough to look my teammates in the eyes. i would be sooooo disappointed in myself. especially after the 5th goal that bounced off me into the net 😞
The 4th goal was very poor defending. The defence left a massive hole so the through ball could be played. So a bit soft. And the last goal was lucky to bounce in off the keeper. So a bit lucky.
@@calvins48 that 4th goal came off a back heel flick on that put the ball past two defenders who were in decent position. It wasn’t great defense, but they weren’t really out of position either. I wouldn’t call their defense soft in that one. That 5th goal can only be seen as adding insult to injury. Cincy’s keeper seemed so toasted by that point he just seemed like he wanted off the field. It was a lucky bounce for sure… but it was facilitated by the previous 57 minutes of punishment he’d taken.

If one or two players is the difference between "it would've been closer" and getting blown out, FCC needs to go back to USL and build some depth. Every team is either missing important players, or will be at some point, lack of depth is never an excuse.
Meh. Not denying the crushing defeat to Cincy here, but Cincy decisively beat Seattle who themselves decisively beat St Louis. Bad luck. Bad game. Super late start for an eastern timezone team. Missing two core forwards. 2nd half looked more like the normal Cincy. Take back the own goal and the game was held 1 to 1 second half.

I'm an Orlando City fan but have to admit St. Louis City is a very impressive team. When they poached Gioachinni from us I knew they were gonna be a problem. Now I read Firmino might sign. Crazy.
An amazing night for St. Louis. Since the weather was also a big story with the two and half hour rain delay and tornado threat, I read the 22,500 fans entered their storm shelter. Still woefully exposed to the elements. *Edit, I had the wrong year for the derecho, it was 2006, the inaugural year for the new Busch Stadium*
@@polygon-viewer i was also at the new Busch stadium once during a big storm in the lower concourse and felt safer than the much more open prior ballpark, but that was likely a very false sense of security.
Honestly, it looks better on the replay than it looked in person. STL is a real solid team that are able to create a lot of low xG chances and just converted on them tonight. A couple "lucky" bounces (i use the term lucky loosely because youre bound to get a few of those when you create that much pressure) and just nothing went our way. GG STL, you better keep this up.
