The 2023 Toyota Gazoo Racing 1000 Desert Race is the single biggest motorsport event in Africa. The TGR retuned to Botswana after a four year hiatus drawing over 200 000 spectators to the mining town of Jwaneng in the Southern part of Botswana. The TDR won by the NWM Ford Castrol team this year is part of the South African Rally Raid and a qualifier for the Dakar Rally.
