“Who is going to work those days?” You, dear manager, thats part of your job. It is also beneficial to hire more workers to cover the times you need… or don’t hire high schoolers to begin with. If the manager knew how to manage, they would never need to call workers to come in and cover anything. It would have already been thought of, considered, and planned for to begin with. That’s how I ran my employees. If we came up short, guess who was doing their jobs for the day? Me. Right? Like... You have a clear demand for two days out of the week. If your current staff is insufficient, that means you need to hire more people. "I can't hire more people" is an excuse from managers who don't know how to speak to their labor or budget. You hire a part time employee specifically for those two days and let the employee decide if that's what they want to do. Hours are probably going to get cut unless the manager can speak to the extra labor and the revenue it is bringing in which seems to be a lost art these days. I used to frequently overschedule according to business needs because, hey, it wasn't my money, BUT I was able to keep track of foot traffic and revenue to the hour to justify the extra labor. Aka... the extra labor was strategic so it was bringing in what I was spending plus some. Not only did we hit our margins and goals for the year, but we grew the stores margin by a whole 1.x million and got more staff as a result. Managers can make a world of difference when they actually do their job right.
I got fired from a job because when I was hired I told them I had a standing obligation two days a week that required me to leave at 3:45 pm instead of 4. I walked out of McDonald's before my first day because I told the manager that I was already working a other job and needed the night shift and she agreed to those terms. Then I come in to finish some paperwork and she asks if I'm ready to start Monday morning... I told her "I only took the job because you said I could work nights..." She patted me on the shoulder and said "Well I need someone to work the day shift so if you want the job you need to work that shift." I just said ok and walked out the door lol She called me twice on Monday and I just blocked her number 🤣 TF is wrong with these managers? Ha
Don’t use your phone while driving.
Favouritism at its finest ladies & gentlemen! 😒
Anyone else get distracted by the fact she's both talking whilst driving and, at least a few times, had both hands off the wheel?
Don't phone behind the wheel, lady... Be responsible, at least stop the friggin' car!
Well.. It's definitely good for your ego when you show "who's the boss" to your boss. But, we know that's it. No job when you're coming back. She WILL have some good stories to tell when she's older though.
LEGALLY SCHOOL COMES FIRST.
This is a you problem manager
it's called expliotation.
Sort of like that episode in Roseanne where she had to work at that chicken place? I think it was was either season 2 or season 3.
'I'm your boss', no you're a complete DC.
I think it's kind of irresponsible of you to animate this with her holding the phone while she's driving a car.
Shouldn’t be driving and talking on the phone at the same time. Especially if you’re a high school student. Pull over and take the call … safety comes first.
dont hire students??
Maybe don't hire high schoolers
Lol stop hiring people in school then lolol
every time this is an issue, remember that there's unemployed people out the wazoo that are kept that way so companies can threaten you
