Just beautiful Finbar. It’s something that amazes me, how you create these ethereal moments and syncopated melodies and time signatures that work so well together. I can appreciate how much you let a track “ breathe “, and give something space, to build a beautiful tension. Truly wonderful stuff 😊

Something I love about your Warr Guitar compositions, is when I close my eyes I can't tell if it's a Warr Guitar being played with touch style, or 2 perhaps 6 string guitars. Just beautiful interaction of sound voicings!

I can barely look away from the fretboard on my bass, can’t imagine doing it on my Warr guitar

beautiful composition. hey! could you make a video explaining the differences between the touch guitar/warr guitar vs the chapman stick??
i'm from uruguay and i have a chapman stick knockoff made by an argentinian luthier (i'm just starting out on the instrument, i'm actually a drummer).
But some day i would like to buy the original, but in recent years touch guitars have gain some popularity (and i know that if you order a stick it takes ages to be made).
So i would love a thourough video explaining pros and cons of each, both for playing, order one, etc (if you want of course).
Any way thanks a lot for bringing more light into this amazing instruments. Much love form uruguay!

I ordered a Chapman Railboard during the peak of Covid in the USA. It was a custom order & I received mine in less than a year.

Thanks for the comment and congrats on your own journey. I have owned 3 different sticks, a Grand Rosewood and a 10 and 12 tailboard. Sticks are amazing instruments. The Warr Guitars Come with a lot more options and a completely Different Sound. I have 2 Warr Guitars both 12 Strings, One in Crossed (Inverted Bass Tuning) and the other Uncrossed.
I like your suggestion regarding the difference between Warr and Chapman Sticks, however I dont own any sticks these days. I am however thinking of doing a whole series on learning to play the Warr Guitar (stick) if there is enough interest. Subscribe to my Channel and keep up to date as I start releasing some new vids.
If you are interested in learning a particular aspect of Touchstyle or Stick, Warr, Hanewinckel guitars let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you by doing a video on that topic.

@@FinbarOhanlon thanks a lot! I mean any tips for studying helps, specially since in my country there is no one that plays touch style instruments, so I'm learning from books and TH-cam videos mostly.

@@FernandoCuadro thank mate. I get it, there are hardly any players here in Melbourne Australia. I took zoom lessons with Steve Adelson and James wright who really helped me get started. Anyways I will start planning a series of lessons for anyone looking to learn and post it out and see if there is enough interest
Thank for you contribution to my channel.

How is your guitar tuned dude,? Is it bottom to top , as in fat to skinny like a normal guitar.? Sounds amazing.

    • @nickcook3948
      @nickcook3948 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

It's a Warr guitar (12 string) which will most likely have a very similar tuning to a Chapman Stick.
The lowest strings are usually the two in the middle - the bass side is screen-left (Finbar's right,) often tuned in 5ths upward to the neck edge and the treble side is often tuned in 4ths toward the other edge of the neck.

    • @FinbarOhanlon
      @FinbarOhanlon  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@nickcook3948 thanks mate, that is correct. My other Warr is Tuned in Parallel 4ths where both sides are tuned to 4ths and the bass is not inverted and strings swapped around. Having both tunings requires 'if effect' learning two different instruments with lots of similarities, but gives me a lot more creative outlets.
The next Warr Video I post will be using the other Warr. Thank for your comment and support.

      Thanks so much @malstewart5633
Mal, appreciate the comment and question.
The Guitar has in effect two sides Bass and Melody. Each side has 6 strings and its own outputs and controls.
12 strings in total, with th bass side inverted (upside down from centre of the neck to the outside (top) of the fingerboard.
      tuning is as follows
      Bass Side
      12:-B
      11-E
      10-A
      9-D
      8-G
      7-C (lowest)
      Melody Side
      6-B (Lowest)
      5-E
      4-A
      3-D
      2-G
      1-C
