Badfinger was one fortunate(in the beginning) group of Young guys, barely in their 20's they had some of Music's top Rock stars helping record this song. George Harrison playing a duet with Pete Ham on the slide Guitar, Leon Russell playing Piano what a friggen bitchen lineup. Rest in Peace Pete, Tommy and Mike 🙏 Thank you for giving us a lifetime of memories!✌️
Like Moby Grape and probably countless other lesser lights, undone by an unscrupulous manager. Joey and present company (including my friend, drummer Mike Ricciardi) fortunately are still performing their music and going strong.
Good to see Joey still has that great sense of humour.. He was always smiling or laughing in Badfinger clips..I bet he'd be a great bloke to have a beer with..
God bless this man. He lost his band, and great friends over a weasel thief of a manager. Their music is so great. I never get tired of hearing them. If they need a new member count me in.
I am so thankful that Joey survived all tradgedy of the band. But also feel cheated that this band had so much talent and so much more to give. Dammit...but God Bless Joey!!!!
@@backingtrack8100 haha do you really think was a Joey's fault what happened to Tom? They just discussed like every other bands. The problem started years before that. And that problem has a name: Stan Polley

One of the great bands...of all time. Criminally underrated. Insanely talented. Like the Beatles and that all 4 would have been successful on their own but thank goodness they gave us Badfinger.
Even though Pete sang the original song, it's great that Joey performs it in his shows! People love to hear it. I seen Badfinger twice. 1978 and 1981. I got to meet and shake hands with Tommy Evans. He doesn't try to replace them. He and Pete wrote the most songs and sang lead on most Badfinger songs. Tom was Tom, Joey was Joey, Pete was Pete and Mike was Mike. There weren't sides (the Pete/Tom side and Joey). Pete and Joey contributed the most. It's just that Dan Matovina said Ham & Evans were the principal writers, which is a lie.
Ham stuck out. A mega-force! But at the same time Tommy, Joey and Mike were fantastic too. I'm just glad Joey is keeping this alive to what extent he can. So so so sad!
Joey was badgering Tom Evans into putting his name on songwriting credits for "Without You". Tom killed himself a few days later. I don't think he should be singing their songs after all that.
@@linsioux217Wrong. Joey wanted money because of an in-written agreement the band and manager Bill Collins had. Therefore, Joey was eligible for money.
So hard...reduced to "do-duh-doos" from the cafe audience. Don't mean to be a hater, but let the tribute bands handle the legacy now Joey. To be truthful...that was sad.
I am a huge Badfinger fan but this is an abomination 👎this clown should not be allowed to sing Peter's songs. Molland caused so much toxicity in Badfinger with his jealousy and envy!!!!!!
Milbury55 - I'm totally with you on this. I'm not sure that anyone who's commented here knows the true story. Of course, I've never spoken to Joey, so therefore I've never heard his side of it. But I think it's generally well known that he's made (or tried to make) a life on the back of Pete & Tom. Would love to chat more about this...
@@andyjones125 The real evil person in all this was their manager at the time, Stanley Herbert Polley, an American entertainment manager and fraudster, active in the 60s and 70s. Ripped these guys off big time, so bad in fact that, Pete Ham couldn’t understand, after producing hits, they were all still living in a share house, became depressed and, took his life in 1975 at the age of 25. What makes it even more sad, he was going to be a dad. A few years after, in 1983, Tom Evans took his life as well. The two most talented ones in the group.
@@andyjones125 I know you know the story already, …..Joey can’t even sing!….maybe it might be his way of healing or a tribute to his mates, or cashing in?..
I remember seeing Joey at a Beatles convention in the mid-80's. Someone who apparently hadn't listened to the news for a decade asked him what Pete and Tom were doing. Joey answered that they were busy falling apart. Real nice, huh? As for his jealousy, Pete wrote "Take It All" as a way of telling him to shut up.
@@ericcampbell6370About "Take It All" - people are allowed to be jealous of their friends at times. I know Pete tried to reach out to Jowy, yet becuase of that, some view Joey as an "attention wh*re". He did insult Pete, but where were the others when Joey and his wife tried to reveal that Polley was ruining their lives? Oh, right. Pete was mad about Kathie "managing" them. No one trusted Joey (who wrote 2 songs about the matter). Not even Tom, who hired a P.I (damn right) at the time to check on Polley. Then, Joey CHOOSES to bring Tom and Mike back. Didn't work out with Mike and he and Tom carried on. However, in '81, after finacial issues, Joey agrees to come back ONLY once the record company gives them money for the follow-up to "Say No More". Suddenly, he's told that Tom and Tony Kaye will lead the band without him. He was hurt by the others as much.
So this is the guy who added so much stress to the lives of both Pete Ham and Tom Evans... just before they killed themselves... all over money? Badfinger died with them.
