Iffat Omar was always one of favs but this is the first time I’m listening to Bee Gul. Omg she’s so graceful and intellectual. I’m hooked to the word, “emotional empowerment”.
What an eye opening interview! Bee Gul! I hv become your fan after watching Talkhyian and Darr si jaati hai Sila. We are dealing with same problems in our society which you discussed and presented in your plays. You talked in real sense of women empowerment to be emotionally independent and powered. Thanks Iffat! calling such a genious writer.

I just accidentally landed upon Pehchaan and I must say while I am still watching it but I probably have never seen such an empowering story about 3 different women with different stories - probably after Tanhiyaan and Parizaad this has touched me so much on an emotional level because of all 3 powerful female characters ..... and the way you have really humanised the characters its simply beautiful ..... and it was so sad that the channel didn't promote it to that extent.
I somehow came across pehchaan. One of the best dramas ever. Story. Direction. Performances. I wish it had a bigger viewership. Its a classic. Bravo the whole team.

I often think back about pehchaan. Kuku, Laila and Mrs khan are all characters that have stayed with me over the years . So relatable and real. I almost feel like there must be a cafe somewhere with delicious muffins made by Laila and a salon with kuku snipping away and creating luscious hair styles. I remember being hooked to pehchaan right from the first episode. The haunting singing by kuku before she slashed her wrists and you realize she is NOT the actual bride. Her helplessness as a person madly in love and devoted to a man that she cannot turn him away even if she wants to. Their beautifully shot scenes at the train station. I loved Lailas journey but it is kuku who stayed with me all these years . She is more human and relatable. And iffat breathed life into her. The pain and depth in her eyes. Saying so much without uttering a single word. It was a master piece. I so wished they had a bigger budget and would redo it someday. Maybe as a theater play or as a book or a movie. It’s a shame it’s not available on A Pluss TH-cam channel
Bee Gul is a wonderful person. I worked with her in some capacity and she is so creative, so hard working and so charismatic. Love her so much. May she grows more. Ameen. Love you bee Gul.
Pehchan by bee gul is my all time favorite drama. Such a good quality crisp script. It’s a shame that it’s not available anywhere online and people are missing out on such a gem

Pehchan drama is also my all time favorite dramas...when i saw its first episode on Aplus, I was so much mesmerized with the storyline , script and so brilliantly and masterfully written dialogues of each character of Pehchan... then i was introduced with Bee Gul's artistic writing with class apart. No doubt Khalid Ahmad the director of the drama very brilliantly handle this kind of story to direct for drama which we Pakistani audience were not introduced before. and Yes I without any doubt in that Drama Iffat Omar's acting was too much better and much focused like that character was specially written for Iffat Omar.
Then Bee Gul's drama with the same director Khalid Ahmad Talkhiyaan( storyline was from God of small Things) is also in my best dramas list. Talkhiyan's OST the is also my favorite OST and yes Bee Gul again proved herself that she is a class apart and an exquisite writer with a very thought provoking writing narrative.
Bee Gul another written drama for BOL channel same directed by Khalid Ahmad "Dil Aara" is also one my favorite dramas as Bee Gul again written this very intellectually showing us the true spirit of human nature.

Iffat jee I may disagree with you on some points but I'm a huge fan of you. You are a great actor and great interviewer. Just watched Mohabbat Aag Si your performance was mind blowing in it.
Unfortunately, wrong representation of religion have been the root cause of atrocities against women in all societies. Suppressing women and painting them with the masculine brush frames our mindsets. Very hard to break barriers but not impossible. Keep up the good work. Proud of such women around the world.

That’s why those writers are saying controversial views, like “ lady is 2 penny” n like these dramas are by institutions permote like very famous,although lots of ppl told me ,what’s this write,how he is writing dialogs.but we can do anything cause permoters are giving fame to their idealogy.otherwise rulling ppl will don’t allow society as Arab dictators controlled their ppl.its power story.

True, as a Hindustani settled in the US for most of my life, I have witnessed Pakistani culture recently through your dramas (which got me hooked since Zindagi gulzaar hai) I have also found that Pakistani Muslims use the Quran & Islam as an excuse to abuse & illtreat women, which I did not notice happening among the Muslims I knew in India. As a woman, sometimes this literally infuriates me & is unbearable to watch. That said, it is obvious that speaking up in Pakistan in favor of women is frowned upon, and your doing so is a daring move, but More Power to You - Good can be quite empowering because it has the backing of Angels & All that is good. Pakistani men need to support & back up the women who speak up for women's rights, and only then, will you'll make progress in that direction, since the society is so male dominated. I recently watched Raqeeb se & LOVED it, then tried Talkhiyaan and couldn't get past the 1st episode. Poorly directed & inSPITE of a great cast, the acting was deplorable & off - Now I'm about to watch Dar si Jathi hai.... because Bee Gul is obviously an excellent writer.
